It was a shame when USN terminated this program. These percussionists were stelar. Had the opportunity to watch them for several years while assigned to the USCG in New Orleans.

This band was created by Admiral Dan Gallery, who had a rather amazing career in world war two. Look him up on Wikipedia, he's a fascinating character.

I didn't know the Navy got rid of this band. I'm not going to mention the high school, but it was in Louisville, Ky. late 80's when I first heard the band, blew my socks off, I really enjoyed the show they put on for us.

navy pan band!! Wow, Dr. Novotney always told me about how they played his tune Everything's Alright, but I almost didn't believe him. What a loss...looks like they were a great band.
