What I like in Bill Evan's is his clarity to the music. He's so precise and emotional at the same time... nobody can match this. You can replicate, but you still feel teh best when he plays. there are so many musicians who who honored him, payed hommage and you can clearly hear the style of bill evans, but you know it is only him who can deliver the song to almost perfection!

Hallo Leute,

diese Schallplatte wurde bei mir privat am 15. August 1980 aufgenommen.

Bill Evans war schon immer mein Idol, nach vielen Jahren und vielen Briefen

ergab sich dann letztendlich das Konzert in meinem Hause.

Soprattutto mugola. Non so te, ma anch'io suono. E mi sono studiato tutte le partiture di Evans. Poi i gusti non si discutono. Quindi vedi di non dirle tu le cazzate.

I guess everyone here understands that you admire Bill Evans - he was without a doubt a great pianist - but at the same time you are not able to respect other reknowned pianists. Whenever I find one of your comments here on the web, you're always praising Bill and bashing other opinions, for then saying that "i gusti non si discutono" = you can't argue about taste (in music). Can't you see that you criticize the taste of other people all the time?

@AManAnd88Keys this is your opinion. Bill Evans is today the greatest yet. But there are many interesting pianists to listen : Wynton Kelly ,jamal ahmad , paul bley, bred mehldau, enrico pieranunzi and others. It's sufficient knows the music and analyze the respective voicing. keith jarrett is simple a show business performer. Don't you agree. I'm sorry.

yes, one of the best improvising, one of the best piano players without soul. We could discuss about him 30 y after his death..( like for Bill Evans ). Yes ( if you like...) i don't know jazz.. Only you.are expert.

@billevanstime Keith Jarrett è un artista rispettabilissimo. E' uno stronzo esagerato, fa un sacco di moìne mentre suona ma quello che suona lo sente, e lo dico per partecipazione. Basta ascoltarsi i superbi rendimenti di Over The Rainbow, Danny Boy, I Loves You Porgy... ma Bill Evans è, come direbbe Levi, "al di là del bene del male". Non un pianista, non un poeta, non un pittore, non un teorico, ma un uomo che urlava all'Universo con le sue note sublimi. Ha fatto la storia.

@FurlanPaolo . Miles Davis parlava di Jarrett con suffcienza. Infatti il sodalizio durò poco. La scusa ufficiale fu che non amava il piano elettrico....Si potrebbe dire molto al riguardo. Per principio diffido da chi per questioni di bottega esegue le stesse cose da vent'anni. Dai Koln concert in avanti per capirci. Standards a gogo evvai!. il portafoglio e salvo. D'altronde tutti tengono famiglia...Su Bill evans non posso che essere d'accordo con te. Ci mancherebbe.

@billevanstime A parte il fatto che quel burbero di Davis parlava con sufficienza e becera animosità e di molti artisti, pochi li ha salvati... ma questo è un altro discorso, lui era un genio e se lo poteva anche "permettere" (per quanto per etica e decoro personale non bisognerebbe, ma tant'è!) Ora godiamoci questo pezzo, scandalosamente succoso.

That's "Noelle's Theme" from The Other Side of Midnight" from Michel Legrand. This one and "Spartacus Love Theme" are my favorites by Bill Evans.
