@hiOsiris No,you must be thinking about the first FMA.Brotherhood takes a completely different storyline since it follows the manga more closely.The first FMA was in 2003 this one is like in 2009.You gotta start from episode 1 of brotherhood inorder to understand this.The first FMA is over,this is a complete new one so yeah.

To shorten this,FMA(2003) was an uncomplete storyline and FMA Brotherhood is a complete storyline in which was suppose to happen.

Kimbley's transmutations in the manga make more sense: the in show he transmutes things into explosive chemicals that then combust, which would mean without a Philosopher's Stone he'd basically be useless, since a lot of things don't even have the chemicals you'd need to do that kind thing.

In the manga he causes the elements inside the objects to become molecularly unstable, a little like Scar which gives it no choice but to explode once it reaches a critical point, the Stone just improving it.
