This guy is just cute as a bug but this is more of a Mexi-Thai fusion thing than the real McCoy, I think. Look for the ladies at egeefay for the real deal.
But I can forgive all that because he's cute as a bug... :)
Look yummy to me:D. we all have different recipe.Don't need to fallow all. But my version no spring onion for papaya salad. Seem like u mixing between the thai salad and papaya salad. But dosen't matter right we cook what we like to eat.U make me hungry eheheh...
Hi there. You are right-- no green papaya found that day in the store and tried to make it appeal to an American palate (thus no fish sauce). Hope you enjoyed the recipes and have a terrific weekend :)
you can find green papaya in any asian grocery store in the US year round.they are grown locally in florida and california.i never heard of this kind of thai papaya salad before.i don't even know where you got that recipe from.i'm pretty sure it isn't thai papaya salad
I do LOVE green papaya when I can find them. I actually used my rendition of the recipe from when I took cooking classes in Chang Mai last year. Isn't coooking terrific and creative-- I'm sure you have a version as well...
You're such a cute chef. It's always great to see a person of a different race taking the time to make an Asian dish with our many different ingredients. Check out my Khmer version of a Green Papaya Salad. Great job!
no!!! the papaya has to be green not ripe! it changes the flavor of the salad into really sweet if it's ripe. wow you really americanize this dish, good job anyways!
Thanks. This is a recipe that I hope anyone can make. Remember, green (unripe) papayas are not commercially available all over in the US. A recipe is a great idea that's open to creativity and interpretation. My idea is to make it as easy as possible for all cooks with the items you have/like. Thanks for your comments and happy cooking.
nicely done

Interesting way to make papaya salad. It's not the traditional way to make this dish, but it's different and looks good.
