O look, god killed all those ppl buried in rubble. Don't send them to Hospitals if they are religious, let them pray to god and see if god grant them healing. Problem?

Hi Thanks for the time u took to do the video etc..any chance of getting back to New Brighton?. Saw on TV about the local coffee shop that reopened but they mentioned alot of damage in the area..?? My Grandparents used to own the petrol station that was on the corner opposite the old post office..their place is still there around the back of what is a video store now..cnr Shaw Ave and Seaview Rd...we have have cousin's in CHC and they are ok!....Regards..Laurie Carroll Auckland, NZ

Great video, shows the balance between destruction of old brick buildings vs most burbs (but not all...) getting away with not much more than some toppled chimneys and fallen over fences. I took my camera on my bike ride to check my warehouse 5km away in Middleton, but saw no damage the whole way so would have been rather boring. So the decision not to take the teg (more power = longer jumps) worked out fine. Tho when I first stepped outside i expected to see every 2nd house collapsed.

Thanks for posting this footage. Actually, Christchurch has held up remarkably well, considering. We all know of nations where a 7.1 would have leveled every edifice in sight and caused thousands of casualties--the absence of deaths and (relatively) moderate damage are a testament to the excellence of engineering practices and adherence to construction standards by the people of New Zealand. Sending thoughts and prayers for your people and a financial contribution to help repair your capital.

Just happened, another shockwave, Man it gives you a fright. Lets hope there's not another big one could be fatal this time and no mistake. Very very lucky No deaths. We were lucky here in this part of town power was off til about 2 pm and few things off shelves . Thoughts with people affected with floods and power outages

Good footage man. I was in St Martins fast asleep after a few vino's Fri night.I thought it was me at first.Got outta bed and could barely stand The whole house was moving at least a metre side to side, for a sec I thought there's no way this sucker's gonna withstand this and prepared for the worse. It just went on and on felt like being on a boat or a monster train passing right outside. Very scary force of nature.Aftershocks woke me 3 times last night they just bolt up the walls and shake.
