  • "today we're gonna blow things up" HELL YEAH! ;-)

    thanks for this. very useful.

  • @konraddobson Yes! Glad I made it, glad you could use it.

  • good!

  • hi could you pleas explain how i can randomly distribute objects within an area / sphere i have a model consisting of a few hundred variably sized spheres that i want to distibute within the sphere and bring them back to the same position i would also like to randomise thier scale if i can but thats not important for the effect ....

any help would be very much appreciatecd

( i am also a newbie to max so please be simple :) )

  • @MrGoldflinger If I understand correctly, you could use particles, emit spheres from it, and use 'gravity' to bring it all back again.

For the particles, you would use an initial velocity, but not an incredibly high speed, I think.

  • good tut, although i have 1 prob. When my ship explodes it still explodes into (small and big_ triangles. How to fix that?

  • @ingotjuh I'm guessing the first thing to do would play with the number of chunks. You can always hit the 'seed' button to random 'redo' the explosion, so the next explosion pattern might look better.

Try those two things, and hopefully they will work.

  • Thank you, i like your tutorial very informative.

  • @speedomike747 I'm sorry about that, but other than surgery, what can I do? I hope you enjoyed the tutorial, though.
