Cote eat all knees and punches like nothing and was VERY good at coming back so I'd rather say Silva didn't want to be aggressive cause he was a bit afraid of Cote's right hand, as for ground I've noticed Silva avoids going to the ground with shorter people(which makes sense cause its hard to submit their short limbs while for them its easier to submit his long ones)

first of all, COTE SAID he was gonna push it. silva scrubbed that idea. remember, silva's a muay thai practioner with hard kicks. he's been doin it way longer than cote. the fact that cote thought he was gonna be OK just recieving those kicks finally TKO'd his knee in the 3rd.

first of all, cote was a tool. cote did not check, block, or dodge any of silva's kicks, making him land awkwardly. look at round 2 with 30 to 50 seconds left where silva kicked. right at cote's injury and all cote did was recieve them. those kicks finally made cote's knee give out in the 3rd round. TKO by knee. nuff said

Nice review of the Silva fight, totally agree. Everything Silva did was spot on, the guy is phenomenal, on a totally different level. What is sad though is the response this fight has gotten in the media. Even read that Dana White was upset and had told so to Anderson. It's a shame. A good performance doesn't ahve to be a destruction in 2min. What he did was so flawlessly executed it was a pleasure to watch. It's crazy the negative feedback people are giving him. Was an awsome display of skill

This is where boxing gets more credit then MMA. When Hopkins puts a beating on Pavlik, no-one gets mad that there wasn't a KO.

When Mayweather beats down someone for 12 rounds and goes untouched, he is commended, applauded and makes more money in his next fight.

This Spider Show was a masterful performance. But the new fans and the bloodthirsty watchers only respect one aspect. They don't understand what Silvan did with Cote was more impressive then what he did to Leben.

i don't know, seriously i was disappointed by silva and I think he got not scared but doubtfull when he landed some of his best knees ever and that didn't even shook coté up, anderson was clowning aroung but he wasn't so supérior to coté because he would of juste ko'd him in the first round ut he just kept running away anyway i was a coté fan back in TKO but i thought he woudn't last a min against silva but coté's chin is solid steel

There is no reason for a world class fighter to get frustrated that he didn't KO someone with his only attempted strike. He tried like, 2 combo's and 2 knees, and landed them all flush. In the meantime, he went untouched.

If you repeat that for an entire fight, you end up with a devastating beat down, and an eventual breakdown. If not the break down, then refer to Fitch's face after he took the beating of a lifetime from GSP.

Anderson was playing with his food and it fell on the floor.

Silva hit hit with ONE REALLY good knee, and ONE good cross. Yes, those blows woulda knocked out some and rocked most but they were only 2 blows.

Over 25 mins of Silva gradually increasing aggression, eventually he would've reached a crescendo and even if it didn't produce a KO, it woulda produced a very ugly TKO.

Furthermore, Silva was virtually untouched. I give Cote credit for a chin and toughness, but his chances of winning do not increase because he can take a punch. He had zero offense.

his chances do increase if he can take silva's hits, take fitch,if he wasn,t that tought he would have no chance vs. gsp but he lasted a while and the more time in the octogon the more chances ou have to make a lucky punch and we know coté as KO power. Silva is clearly dominant, but his dominant run has not lasted long in historic terms. He has only defended his title about what 5 times? My hopes are that someone will come along before he retires that can truly give him a fight.  If Silva fought Griffith at 205, that might work. No more reach advantage.
