  • Hi, I just have a question about the facebook page url.

is that the url from your website or the url from your facebook page?

    thanks.

  • @bgcomputers When you set the url, set it to whatever url you want.

  • Thank you for the tutorial.

  • Hi Wayne,

In the video she deleted a line of XFBML code after it was installed that was specifically for a sign in/ sign up process for facebook. I think the new code that facebook generates has this in as well but I cannot make a word-for-word match and am having difficulty trying to decide which line of the code I need to delete to make this sign up/ sign in part of the button disappear. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help!

    Dennis

  • Great video, Alisa! I successfully added both the like button and the twitter button to my website because of it so thank you for the help. It seems somethings have changed a little since you originally posted because there are 3 different parts to the XFBML part... hard for me to explain but maybe you can go back to facebook and see what I mean by trying to get a new button. Anyway, I'm having a hard time matching the code lines to delete the sign in part of the button and seek your help.

  • Hi @TheRippedTee, This is Wayne/ I am having a hard time understanding what you mean when you say the code is not lining up. Can you try and explain a little bit more on what you mean?

  • When I paste the code, a gray box appears on the Design-view. But when I run the page, it can't find the webpage. The gray box shows only errors. I've tried many different things. Must the webpage be on a server for this to work? Please somebody, answer!

  • Can I ask a question?

  • @7kidable Of course you can ask a question.

  • Ok I have followed this video step by step but the like button still is not showing on my website.. What am I doing wrong?

  • Hello - thanks for your tutorial - im hoping that you can help me with an issue..

You know how you go to ' registering your application? Well I have been through that process a few times and have made the mistake of registering several versions of the home page (doh) ie. .com & .com/index - which i think may be affecting my like buttons performance - in the notes somewhere it says that you can edit your registered apps somewhere - Can you PLEASE tgive me a link that to the place where i edit??

  • after i adding in the iframe and upload it using filezilla the codes doesn't work!

As it only show the number of likes it perviously had and when i click on the like button, it just pop up another window with the word "Facebook" at the top of the page.

Anybody know how to solve it?...

  • I am trying to figure out why when i copy the iFrame code into my website layout (soundclick) it just shows up as the code on my layout no button?? Any help

  • @superstaro1 Depending on what you're using to make your website, make sure that you are editing the content in full HTML.

  • Thanks Alisa.. - Good job!!

  • Thank you Alisa your video is really great. One question, how did you link up Dream Weaver to Filezilla so you can edit? That is a neat trick for a newbie like me to learn. That is often where I really screw up but if I could do it all in one hit like you did, with a bit of luck no screw ups. Cheers JP

  • @sanooka Great question, and thanks! You can connect Filezilla to any html editor by going to Edit -> Settings -> File Editing (this option is near the bottom of the menu) then choose the 'Custom Editor' and you'll be able to browse your computer for the application. Also make sure to check the 'Always use default editor' as well.
