Hello i have just bought this simulator and wow i have to say it is a great program. i say it is comparable to clear view which it is a $40 program. again i really like this sim. and i was wondering if i could post maybe some ideas for updates. i know you are working on getting it for iphone and ipad. but maybe for an update add float planes and a new water landscape. and some more like movable props, jets, 3d planes for aerobatics, and more just basic planes. how acurate is this compared to a fight simulator with a regular controller? because ive been just messing around with this for a few weeks and have gotten quite good and i am getting my first 4 channel rc airplane, should i consider buying a actual flight simulator iwth a regular controller or know that this is accurate?

@UglySocksProductions If you are using your Xbox 360 controller, then it is very similar to a r/c transmitter. Many people find that RC-AirSim prepares you to fly a R/C airplane as much as any simulator can. I would recommend finding an experienced r/c pilot to help you trim and test fly you aircraft first. Then use a buddy box cable system with that r/c pilot to get you thru your first few flights. That's how I made the jump from sim to the real thing! Hope this helps!

Few things: How does the glider fly, since there's no wind, yet it makes engine noise? Why does the Slowmatt plane have no engine smoke, and finally, will you animate the actual propellers on the planes that have them?

@ambientflier There is no Hi-Start or winch so I had to give the glider some thrust to get off the ground. The sound helps you know how much thrust is being applied. You can cut it back for gliding. Slomowatt doesn't have smoke because its an electric model. I would like to animate the props someday. I think that and control surface deflection would really add to the realism. Thanks!

This is a neat game. Bought it a bit ago and was glad to see the update today, which made the background much better looking, and added damage, if I'm not mistaken. Did you ever think about making the propellers actually turn? It seems like it would be fairly simple and improve the realism a bit...

@muchohumpty Technically it's really a simulator and not a game, even though it is on the Xbox 360. So the point is to train people to fly radio controlled model airplanes. Or to just have fun flying a model airplane without crashing a real one!

@Pastywhiteninja 7 planes. No helicopters in this version. I'm developing a helicopter edition. The flight simulation is very realistic. Many experienced R/C pilots say if feels close to the real thing! There is one sailplane that is similar to the Great Planes Spirit, or a C.G. Gentle Lady.

Good question. RC-AirSim already has a very realistic flight dynamics simulation engine. I think it is as good as any available. Skilled r/c pilot have reported that it is very close to the real thing. Plus anyone can try the demo of RC-AirSim for free on their Xbox 360 right now. And the demo doesn't expire, you are just limited to three airplanes and five minute flights. The full version is $3. I think that's hard to beat if you are wanting to learn how to fly an r/c model airplane.

Yes a 3rd person view would be great. A few people have requested that. The upcoming smoke effects will be added to the Xbox version. The Xbox version of RC-AirSim is the only one being updated these days!

Hey. Dont suppose you remember me. i commented like 1-2 months ago saying about when the updats are coming and what they'd include. Im quite impressed with the update for the crash effects. its really fun craching rather than flying. yeah. you should add more cameera angles such as following, POV or a camera which you can place anywhere on the map. Cant wait for more updates if they are happening.

Nice work, this is one of the best Indie games. Playing it together with my dad. Reminds me of the old RC-Stuntcopter by Shiny on Playstation 1. I hope if there's new content, those of us who bought the full version can get it as an update. It would be nice to have co-op gameplay on the same console (not just online) by pulling the camera way back to allow two planes on screen at once.

I LOVE THIS GAME! I CAN PLAY IT FOR HOURS! But one question and suggestion. First the question, I dont understand how to play. Well I mean I can fly and stuff but like when I push my Left Stick to the left I spin out of control. Can you please make a video showing what each control does? It would really help. Now the suggestion maybe if you can update it more aircrafts and bigger planes? Because if mine goes to far I cannot see it! Maybe if you make that video of the conrtols and what they do I

Pushing the Left Stick left/right controls the rudder which generally controls yaw. For the most part, the ailerons control roll and the elevator controls pitch.

There are a lot of great videos and instructional websites already out there that will show you the basics. I'd like to make an RC-AirSim specific one someday. Thanks for flying RC-AirSim!!!

I bought this a while ago, very affordable great sim. A few suggestions - I would like the option to add a cross wind and to expand the FOV so that it is easier to see the ground when you're flying close to yourself. A 3 CH control scheme would be excellent - lft throttle, rt elevator & rudder. All in all this is a very capable little simulator!  I recommend it to everyone.

If you implemented any of those changes, I would be happy to buy another copy of this great little game.

It's not a power bar, it's a throttle indicator. If you select a control scheme that puts the throttle on the triggers, then RC-AirSim displays the throttle indicator so you know where your throttle is set.

there are 2 things you need to fix. 1 the throttle dose not freeze. 2 the plane starts out at 1/2 throttle. the way you can fix this is by having a message come up stating to put the throttle all the way down be for starting. you can also have a button that you can press that will freeze the throttle like a real RC airplane transmitter. other then that it is relay good and affordable THX!

thx for replying I changed the controls and it works perfectly. sry I noticed 1 more problem it is hard to see the ground when landing is there something u can do about that. other then that it is a grate game and grate practice. I will tell my friends about it and the people who I fly with thx.

I've flown rc airplanes and you have the physics pretty close, this really makes me want to buy another plane! I'm sure you know what you need to make this better, but here's my list.. clouds... it is hard to tell how high you are, maybe a altimeter feature? different fields to fly from. wind of coarse, multiplayer would be cool also..drop the 5 minute demo timeout, I know you want folks to buy, but limiting the plane to a trainer is enuff.. looking forward to the updates.

yeah the sim is just awsome and i was so happy someone made one for 360 cuz there are no mac compatible ones out yet. but some sweet updates would be more fields, wind, planes, maybe the ability to drop little bombs of parachute guys, multiplayer, maybe even shoot little bottle rockets haha. but the sweetest thing would be to fly a p51 or a f4u corsair
