  • Is Bossa Nova?

  • @CherrySimmons

Hi, Yes it's Bossa nova style. I think I should do a slower version without the accompaniments.

Hoped you liked what you heard though.

  • Thanks for your kind comment. glad you enjoyed the video.

    Regards, Keith

  • Well done, indeed! Thanks for posting.

  • @philami1 Hi, Sorry I missed your post until now. Thanks so much for taking the trouble to comment and thanks for being to kind as to make such a nice comment.

    Regards from N. wales UK

  • Sounds amazing ! I am very tempted and was nice to talk with you also.

You have a very nice style.

    Will be in touch soon,

    Best wishes, Jason

  • @organaut

    Hi jason,

You might like to check out this video

Neo Instruments Ventilator vs a real Leslie 122 ..........if you haven't already seen it.

I'm sure you'll never part with the Ventilator when it arrives.

BTW you have a really great touch on the keyboards.

Regards, Keith Nice talking to you.

  • Great sound, amazing realism of the organ, nice arrangement.

  • @Halunlimited

Cheers, Thanks for posting. It's the Ventilator that really works the magic.

    Amazing piece of kit.

  • oh! this was so nice! have sent sub, and friend invite!

  • @MrKeys57

Thanks a lot for your kind comment and for subscribing to my channel.

  • im sure i gonna put up some videos when i get it.

  • @Denvermorgan2000

    Look forward to viewing them.

    I've subsribed to your channel

  • I called today there going to get me one here in norway.

I just cant get over the sound of the vent.

i makes the built in leslie on my xk3 sound like a toy.

  • The Ventilator, is really something special.

I'm sure you will enjoy using it.

It does make a lot of difference to the sound. Let us know how you get on. Perhaps upload a video?

  • even with the audio quality from the net the ventilator really gives the xk3 something it really needs i have been trying to watch all the videos and im convinced that i got to have one for my xk3

  • @Denvermorgan2000

Personally, I would much sooner have the older XK-3 with a Ventilator, than the newer XK-3C without one. The Ventilator ( becoming known as the Vent to its friends ) will work its magic with any reasonably decent tonewheel clone. It sounds great being used with the Tyros flute drawbars.

    Get one and enjoy.....

  • im amazed by this ventilator its really amazing it gives the xk3 the sound of a real leslie i got to have one of those for my xk3

  • @Denvermorgan2000

It really is a stunning piece of equipment, and

I think, the best musical purchase I have ever made. Have you checked out the other Ventilator videos? Even allowing for the pretty poor audio on Youtube you can hear that the Ventilator really does capture the sound of a mic'd Leslie.

  • Nice !!

Good music, good use of the great little Q3 !

  • @czk002

    Cheers,

Thanks for the comment. The Q3 does record well using its mic, but it could be improved upon by allowing line in as well. A remote control would be good too, like the Kodak Z

  • @cz002

    cont'd

Kodal Zi8 to allow for recording stops and starts without having to go to the camera, and definitely a 720p widescreen format too.

  • I wanna hear clips you make with the Zi8, maybe it's a better choice for you (using line in). But there's nothing on the market right now that can compete with the sound quality of the Q3, recording live music freely with the mics (for $249). It nicely hits the spot for me .

Anyway, keep playing and posting !

  • Yes,

If you think of the Q3 as a high quality stereo mic/recorder for Wav and mp3 ( with Standard def video monitoring ) there's nothing else out there to compete.

  • @czk002

    Hi CZ

Uploaded a couple of videos using the the Kodak.

The Kodak Zi8 records at 48khz with 128kbps compression. The recordings sound OK on my laptop but YouTube then does its thing and it doesn't sound as good when uploaded.

(eg) Cymbals sound splashy on YouTube audio.

For quality mic plus video recordings, the Q3

has no competition on the market but the Kodak is neat and line-in is really handy for keyboard recording as is the optional remote controller.

  • Very Nice Setup, Keyboards Sound Great together, Thanks for Posting, Very Godd Playing 5*****

  • Bobby,

Thanks a lot, and for subscribing. I have now bought a Kodak Zi8 camcorder that will let me record direct lin-in and I'm hoping to post some more videos soon.

  • Could you do a Gospel Song with the organ Alone so I can hear the full effect of this simulator? And where can i buy this product? thanks

  • @apostolic1617

Hi,'You can buy the Ventilator direct from the inventor, at w w w. neo-instruments. de in Germany. It can be shipped to the USA or other countries from there. There are some professional mp3 demos on the web-site.

I have also done another upload featuring the Ventilator.

    Check out More From:rotoshere2000

  • Hey! question, the leslie simulator is not coming from the xk3??

  • The Leslie simulator is the box you can see resting on the XK-3. between the two keyboards.

The straight organ sound from the XK-3 is being fed into the Ventilator (neo-instruments). The Ventilator then processes the sound and provides a stereo ( or mono) line out to feed into a stereo ( or mono) amplifier and speakers.

The XK-3's Leslie simulator is switched off.

An 11 pin Leslie plug can be adapted to control the Ventilator, or you can use a modern Hammond ( or Nord) half-moon switch.

  • Don't really miss 2102 ( prefer the cash )

    Vent really super. YMMV.

U will need UK mains plug to regular figure of 8 plug.

Had posted longer reply that U Tube wouldn't save

  • @rotosphere2000

Can't figure why sometimes reply isn't accepted.

  • @rotosphere2000 Thanks for the info, seems like YouTube is giving you some agro, pity cause I would have liked the longer reply.

    Thanks

    Keith

  • It seems that members of the Yahoo clonewheel

Group have been really taken with the Vent.

One or three have given up their rotary speakers in favour of the Vent. Obviously its easier to transport especially if you already use other amp/speakers for other keyboards

Also you aren't in the hands of front of house sound mixer. Leslie's aren't the easiest to mic.

But until the Vent, others sims didn't nail 'the sound' and ultimately that's what counts.

So you pays your money and takes your choice.

  • @rotosphere2000 If you check out my other videos you can compare the two rotaries. I have recorded from roughly the same position

  • Hi rotoshere, that ventilator sim sounds great, I have been reading about it and now considering selling my 2101 for one. I have an XK3 and Tyros 2 in a similar set up to you. I believe you live not far from me in North Wales. Where did you buy the Vent from?

Thanks also for some nice playing.

    Keith

  • @cheshire1uk Hi Keith

I bought the Ventilator direct from the manufacturer in Germany off his neo-instruments web-site

  • Hi Keith,

continuing ( U Tube had accepted my replies but then lost them )

Also used Ventilator with Tyros 2 drawbars and they sound great too.

Sold my 2102 and now use Ventilator.

Very happy with this remarkable gizmo.

  • @rotosphere2000 So you are not missing the 2102 then? Did it come with a UK plug? must admit I'm very tempted, but worried I might miss the the real Leslie.

  • @cheshire1uk

I see that you are now selling your 2102.

I guess that the Ventilator does it for you too?

Certainly sounds great on your California Dreaming Video. Good luck with the sale.

    Best regards Thomas.

  • @rotosphere2000

Thanks Thomas, I actually decided to sell my 2101 the day I received the Vent, but just never got round to it until now, hope it sells though it's in the way lol. The vent has certainly made a big difference to the XK3, I love it.

    Best Regards Keith

  • XK1user: Fenomenal play, would like to know what type of pedal (expresion )are you using, and drawbars settings!1 you are GREAT!! always enjoy your postings,THANKS !! Love the "WAVE" I'm buying one ,great price ffor the sound.!! Thanks again.

  • Hi XK1 user,Thanks for your kind comment. BTW the Leslie sim is called Ventilator.

Wave is the name of the tune.

I'm using a Yamaha exp pedal midi'd thru to the XK3 through a midisolutions mapper converting cc7 vol to cc11 expression.

I do have a separate Hammond exp pedal, the cheaper one; it works fine.

I have a converted 11pin Leslie cable that is adapted to control the Ventilator'd speed. The Ventilator is utterly realistic, best thing since the Leslie by a mile, you will love it.

  • Excellent !

In fact, because of your videos, I ordered the Ventilator to use with My Nord Electro 2 and Technics KN7000 as you have it set up. My kind of music. Thanks

  • Thanks for your comment. It's great to get feedback. Glad you enjoyed the clips. You'll absolutely love the Ventilator.

IMHO the Ventilator should win music Product of the Year, if not the decade even.

  • Hi, thanks for your video-demonstration.

It`s really great. What do you think about the circumstance, that the ventilator has only goz a Mono-Input. How did you connect it with the XK3C?

  • Thanks for posting comment.

I send mono out from XK3 into Ventilator.

Latest Ventilator's have stereo input option, and true stero by-pass option.

All versions give great stereo or mono output.
