These are all super helpful. I really like stage makeup and was interested after seeing Phantom on Broadway. I got a big bag of stage makeup; fake facial hair and all. The only thing I am not sure (confuzed so much) about is the "Theatrical Modeling Wax". Thanks again for uploading these.
This realy helped me! I was the Phantom for Halloween. I wouldn't of been able to pull of the face look if it wasn't for your videos!! You're very talented. Thank you sooo much!!
That is what I was thinking. I have two vials of latex and eight containers of wax. I need to pre make the prosthetics, so I thought wax would be best. But I liked your tutorial on the wig, I am going to use the concept for the alopecia wig.
Excellent, I'm glad you liked the wig tutorial. As far as the wax goes, do be careful about how much you put on around very movable parts of the face (ie. the mouth). If you're doing the lip with wax, I'd suggest putting small, separate amounts on the top and bottom sections and sealing carefully, as they will pull up with lots of movement. Best of luck, let me know how it turns out! :)
I do not know if you will get this in enough time, but I am going to begin work on my phantom deformities tomorrow, I am considering using scar and nose wax to build it up, on top of the cotton laid with spirit gum, instead of latex. I find that spirit gum is easier to work with. Do you think the wax will work, or should I stick with latex. I am using Ben Nye, and I will have 3 hours to apply it. Thanks!
I would suggest still using latex to at least seal the nose/scar wax once you're finished building it up. It isn't necessary, but will help blend the edges of the wax and prevent them from coming up as easily.
It's funny, i was already thinking about being the phantom for halloween-i think erik is awsome-and although i am not doing the whole disfigurement thing (yet:)) you still gave me a few videos-full of ideas and fun!p.s. look up Will Ferell, on the late late show,as the phantom. It's sooooo funny!
