@jeffkahl: I loved him in TLW. I do think his "state" alas led to less of his material being featured. But that was hilarous to see a drunken Richard Manuel tell about "stuffing bolognese."
I like an interview of Levon Helm just being himself. I forget how "country" he is until he starts to speak and laugh. Just a good ol' boy from Arkansas. Hope I meet him one day!!
These interviews are inter-cut excerpts from the 1984 THE BAND IS BACK reunion concert from Vancouver, BC. There is multiple excerpts through out the concert footage.
They are quite enlightening about the early days of THE BAND, Dylan, Ronnie Hawkins and other stuff.
"A Saturday night pink"...............well, that's the very best description of Big Pink that I've heard to date. ..... This is 'quite' priceless (still laughing out loud here).
Fuck. Richard eyes. :DDDD

I love Levon. What I wouldn't give to play one song with him. Best "rock and roll" drummer of all time.

so odd seeing Richard being interviewed sober mind you I've only seen the bits from The Last Waltz.

@jeffkahl: How do you know he's sober? A lot of drunks can well hold their alcohol.

@JonWRowe this is true but compare him to how he is in The Last Waltz this must have been a good day for him. he's right blitzed in TLW

Great footage, never saw it before. Levon looks about twenty years younger without a beard. When was this filmed?

It's you, it's just you. He was my best friend and as gentle as a lamb. He was too fragile. Listen to him sing "You Don't Know Me."
