I have to say to all the haters out there, try 1 just have a open mind and try it, I like the sound the smoth power and high touke at low speed and the fact I'm not polluting just to go for a ride. plus 5cents a charge u cant beat it.
LMAO @ Obama drones! What a bunch of enviro-religios-nazi zealots and freakazoids ! Defending a shitty bike, like it's some kind of religious symbol.
The bike can be improved with a modicum of good engineering, however with limp-wristed cheerleaders like you, Zeromoto has ZERO motivation to do the improvements and would rather sell you junk as long as you are willing to pay for it.
I have a CBR 125 though which cost £2k, does 70-80mph and 70mpg+. Petrol is £5 a week and tax is only £15 a year. This electric bike has no advantages whatsoever.
Government Motors as you call it is already turned a profit. Thank You Obama for not letting this company go down the tubes. He saved nearly 1 million jobs, You sound like any other uneducated repubican piece of crap who, because of, we will be dependent on oil for years to come. Then you rip on solar panels? You're right, IGNORANT!
It is useless for me and the 99.99% of other riders (that's right we are all "ignorant and closed minded") . There is no reason to shovel propaganda for badly designed products (that's what we have Obama's administration and Government Motors for).
When Zeromoto designs a machine that we can use in real life, I'll be the first one to buy it. In the mean time, take your USELESS, SLOW, SHORT RANGE PRODUCT and show it. where the solar panels don't get any sunshine.
with a battery charge mobile station, this vehicle could be a very dangerous threat to tanks. In the middle of the night, in complete silent, with very low ir image, it can attack tanks and other armoured vehicles with anti tank missiles and rpgs,
If iwas insanely rich I would buy a mission one for the coolness, the zero needs to come down in price a little, I would still probably buy one though.
mission one but prettier than that is the new motoczysz electric... I'd say one of the best looking sport bikes regardless of engine type... check it out
People get so pissed when you don't use gas. The cost of batteries will just get lower and lower and closed minded individuals will just grow more and more angry.
The things companies conveniently forget to tell us! Every few years, Zero drivers must shell out $3000 for a new battery or they risk being stranded. $1000 per year, I guess. That's how much I spend on gas for my car. The difference is my car carries three passengers and cargo, I can drive it for thousands of miles in a row, it is much safer and offers protection from weather and debris. A Zero is the vehicular equivolent to sleeping on the floor.
OK, it's every five years that one must spend $3000 on a battery, not three. It's too bad, because I was trying to win the youtube award for commenting accuracy. You were right. What a great value this deathtrap is -- with no passenger or storage capacity, limited range and inadequate speed. People have been working on improving electric vehicles since the 1970s. If this is the best we have so far, then perhaps by the time I retire in 2030 they will have one I can actually drive to work.
"What a great value this deathtrap is -- with no passenger or storage capacity, limited range and inadequate speed."
Slow and deadly! Can't argue with that! lol
Look up a bike called mission one if you want to see an example of an electric bike that rivals the petrol counterparts. I'll say in 5 years the tech will rival the petrol engines.
Dude you have no idea what your talking abt, the mission one starts at 70 grand... I'd rather bye like 7 zero's for that :D. And anyways you act like doing 110Kmh is slow and 90 kilometers is a small range for a 2 hour charge lol.....FAIL
I was replying to someone else, if you will note the "quotation marks" ... But onto my point...
All technology starts somewhere. I wasn't saying that it would be the mission one motorcycle. I was saying the electric technology in 5 years will rival the petrol counterparts. I was saying that this bike was a prototype of promising things to come.
and yes 110 kmph is a very low top speed. If you think that's quick then you haven't really experienced motorcycling at its best.
Its just a matter of time. Look at RC cars. Nitro used to be the only way to go fast for any period of time. Now with batteries you can go 70mph with run time of an hour.
this looks wrong, where's the braapp??hahabut nicely design without the exhaust..but im nt sure if there is ani gear there, supermoto is nothing without drifting
I love it, like a scooter, with its get on an go attitude, but not so wussy. The top speed is not an issue as it should never be used for long trips anyway. I'm looking foward to seeing the price, If you have a big thousand for long journeys this thing would be gold for the city. Save your kms for something more enjoyable on your big bike. PLUS coz this thing has guts plus its so fricking little it'd be awesome for lane splitting, driving over cop cars etc....hehe
Real nano tech will make the battery in that 10 times more powerfull and 10 times lighter, in less than 10 years, and thats being conservative, oh and it will charge in way under 10 min...
I would but it if the cost price and cost of maintenance are lower than the cost of a petrol/diesel scooter (I'm 16 and in my country we can only drive scooters... ie. Real bikes and cars are for 18+)
If it can't match the horsepower, the torque, the 0-60 time, the top speed, the agility, the sound, and the feel of a 600 then I will kindly pass on this bike. Great concept though, it will just be a while before I ever consider one over a petrol bike.
It needs a sound generator, so that we can pick what sounds it makes. Cost about $100 bucks and will make a lot more fun. And make sounds user editable and uploadable - now we got something like sound tuning. Wow!
I like nearly everything about this bike. All electric, flat torque, linear HP, cool design, lightweight, extremely low operating cost, good range (60miles or so), quick recharge time. I think it only needs one more thing: a slightly higher top speed. The website says 60mph top speed. I know they wanted to use one gear only, but either use a slightly more powerful motor, or change the gear ratio a little. We need to at least pass cars on the freeway. Either way a great start on E-bikes!
reason there usng 1 gear is the same reason eletric cars arent using a lot of gears eletric motors give instant 100% full TQ. the tesla originally has a lot higher top speed but the consistent trashing of the gears between shifts caused them to reduce them.
Supermotos aren't really built for the highway; most struggle at highway speed & aren't comfortable to ride at high speeds . Upping the top speed shouldn't be too hard if they decide to. They can get a motor with higher rpm and/or a more powerful one & change the gearing. More likely they decided it was unnecessary given the market, though a 80-90mph top speed would be more useful. Should be interesting what they come up with next as battery packs get cheaper.
