  • Glad to see I am not the only one using my Pathfinder for hauling fire wood!

  • @buzz851 Ya it dosenot hold alot of firewood at a time

  • lol thats a mad dodge fix lol

  • ah crap. i hate when that happens!

  • @canadacatalyst I think I'm going to make it into a hafe track this summer as the back end is rotten all out.

  • What does the 3rd pipe do, that's coming out of the pipe. There's the wire for the power, then the fuel line for the engine, what does the third one do? (I'm a fair bit terrible with cars)

  • @OldTimeForties There was only two on this sending unit. One fuel pressure and the other one is the return. The fuel tank its self will have a vent or evap line.

  • @OldTimeForties return line of the fuel. whatever isnt used by the engine comes back to the tank. Pump -> fuel rail with injectors-> fuel regulator-> return line

  • @Veikra Ah okay, thanks for clearing it up, I appreciate it. :)

  • next time you want to empty a gas tank, remove the fuel pump relay and bridge it. easier and single person :)

  • @Veikra Ya we used to do that at work, but I had to cut the wires anyway so this was just faster

  • Up north when its -30 or lower if you get gas on you it's instant frostbite.

  • @kowyn2 I can feel that already lol. When its -30 here I don't spend a long time outside. Good thing we don't get but a handfull of that cold here.

  • Good job shawn, that'll give the old shitter a bit more life lol. Peace

  • @mazb6t We prob won't get anymore snow now that I fixed it and put the plow on it.

  • Who was that at 5:23 ?

  • @THEsquirrel3d The better hafe lol

  • Nice Shawn!

  • @edzgarage You might need to do this someday lol

  • @ShawnCFarm You never know :-)

  • Nice repair mate. Interesting to see what a fuel pump actually looks like.

Unfortunately we haven't seen any snow all winter here in The Netherlands.

  • @classpc This is one messed up winter. I have a feeling that we are going to get dumped on really good at least once

  • The size off the dislikebar is about the same as the dick off that e hole.....

  • @josderedneck22 Its still a rating bro. I don't care if its a thumbs up or down lol

  • @ShawnCFarm Just a joke i saw a few days ago and i liked it so...

  • @josderedneck22 I've had a few videos with alot of disslikes, lol

  • @ShawnCFarm It shure doesnt matter buddy !! Like you said a rating is a rating...

  • @ShawnCFarm I could care less if they like or dislike my video's. Trolls are usual the haters.

  • good idea

  • @shingleful Thanks

  • Oh u mean DAVES FARM LMAO

  • if that spray is on the firewood, you'll have some nice self igniting logs... lol

  • @chrispyguy Hahaha maybe when I don't want it too

  • are the fuel power wires gasoline proof?

  • @Smallgasengine1 On a normal fuel pump they are bare, so the conectors I use as long as they are tight will be fine. Its sparking that you have to worry about

  • @ShawnCFarm yeah true, and if you ever end up homeless you'll have yourself a pot to piss in :)

  • what works good for fuel tanks is old camper water tanks.. they are usually nice flat and have bungs for lines...

  • @y2kxj Cool, are they clean inside

  • @w1ldyovvnz yes, you're correct, but it beats having a plastic bucket for a Fuel Tank.

  • why not just replace the broken rusty part?

  • @Jx1x3 I dont think it will cost 17 dollars, it will probably cost more.

  • @Jx1x3 It would have cost way to much to get a new one or get the old one fixed. I could have tried to fix it my self but the gas tank was not very good ether so I just got rid of bolth probems before they happened again. Now if I junk this truck I can take this tank out fast and put it in another truck if need be.

  • you got a really shitty bucket, you need a paint bucket

  • @ts46176 Ya it was all I could find, wal mart didn`t even have any. The wal marts around here suck really bad.

  • dont you have a nice old david brown ?, no blade for her?

  • @bluelightguy1 Yes and I used to have this plow on the front of it, but its alot nicer to have a heated cab lol, and four wheel drive. Over all its just faster to have a plowtruck. Oh then theres the tunes llol

  • Youre given up firewood room man....LOL Nice redneck repair...Is it permanent? what about plowing . I can see that bucket getting rocked and tipping over....

  • @scanneron670 I'm going to remove the spare tire holder and strap it to the side so theres no chance of it comming lose.

  • it doesn't matter if the wires inside the bucket get gas right ?

  • @hp11208 It seems funny but no. The ones on the fuel pump are bare, so the ones a made are good, just make sure that they are tight.

  • It's always nice to fix something the redneck way.

  • @krismounts Its all about doing with what you have, and it works well for this old truck lol.

  • thats basicly the same way i build my derby tanks but in a marine tank, its alot easier to fill and more compact

  • @billrice15 Ya cousin at work has his old plow truck with a boat tank. Some even have a fuel level on them

  • arent you going to screw the pump now anyway because it not meant to push the fuel that far???? Its only rated for the lines on the vehicle not all that extra line you put on....just sayin.

  • @xXHeyItsChuuchXx Nay should be fine. Its all about presure, as long as your not running uphill too far.

  • its a red neck fuel tank. I see this done on another channel

  • @photosbychristensen Hahahaha

  • Awesome fix. if ya used like an old 5gal oil bucket they come with that little collapsible spout in the lid that you could use to fill it with gas.

  • @IHcubcadet Ya I wasa thinking about that at first, but it was very dirty and it was just easyer to get a new one. I can also see how much fuel I have in it if I put a light behind it. I might take the lid off of the old one too see if it fits.

  • Awesome redneck repair. Love it.

  • @mseven125 Thanks my friend

  • That shure looks furmeliar to me !! hahahahaha Redneck fuel system....

Saw one more thing the same as me. You got the sme split in your fingernail as i have

Have mine sinds 6 years now. Whased the excavator whit degreasing stuff by accident. Bad nails ever sinds.....

  • @josderedneck22 Its from smashing my figgers with a hammer a few times. They've been like that fro a long time.

  • @ShawnCFarm I forgot to mention before but 17 Bucks for a Redneck fuel system is way to much man !! Dave allways makes them for zipp. hahahahaha

He shure is proud off that....

  • cool man,who wont want to click like, sub or leave a nice comment, your in that freezing cold showing us some redneck repairs tricks thanks.

  • @hp11208 I didn't have a choice lol.

  • Nice video as always.

  • @bugnutz43847683 Thanks my friend

  • what kind of gas was that it looked red..

  • @finpainter1 It was from FreeFlow. I think its very cheap fuel as my truck gose through it very fast in winter

  • Just dont light a match

  • @foxdmulder Shes all better now

  • I had to repair similar issues on my old rusty Suzuki Samurai some weeks a go and it was a pain in the ass... And wheather was not as cold as what we see here. Nice redneck repair by the way ++++

  • @2cv56 This repair will out last this truck and then I can just pull it out and take it to the next one.

  • just let the gas spray on the wood :) more heat from it later

  • @blixtkrig Hahahaha that would cost way to much

  • my hands were freezing just watching you. Glad you got it fixed.

Airbag shoes still bad idea. That a lot of force. You've seen that 1 airbag will shoot and full size man off of it. I've seen it hurt an mans back because of the sudden shock and force. Remember you still have to provide for your family and its hard to do that in the hospital or laid up in bed recovering. (just food for thought )

  • @2LateIWon Yes indeed and thats the only thing that keeps me from doing it. I do have a plan. I hope to get that video done this month

  • Shawn go get a brass fitting with an elbow that will be tight in the hole you drilled in lid this way there`s no leaks and crap getting in take a look at the system I did for my Bobcat it works great (78 Bobcat last alteration ) --being it`s a thin wall pail you might have to use 2 fittings 1 in 1 out

  • @MrMrtiki That will work. I'll have a look next time I'm at the hardware store

  • @ShawnCFarm Auto supply might be better we have a bumper to bumper they have all the fittings there

  • cool :D

  • @ShnitzlHaus Thanks my friend

  • Awesome man! Got my test coming up on my 1999V70, 4 warning lights on dash! Lookin at hundreds o bucks!! All the best, Marty :)

  • @martian953 Up here in Canada if it fails the e-test you can get a condistional pass as long as the repair is over 450 bucks

  • Davids Farm! I'll name names!

  • @4gasem Thats one of them lol

  • all i can say is you forgot your duct tape red green

  • @BigCrzyRdNeck It don't work very well in the cold lol

  • Awesome video, Shawn! I love em all!!!

I would have definately tried the JBWeld first though :P

  • @frigginwidowmaker If you look back the return line fell off as well from me trying to remove it. It was just a matter of time before the tank started to leak

  • That fix doesnt make much sence to me.....seems like that would be a fix for a bad tank not a broken line

  • @shawnsutube The tank was not very good as well, so I just killed two birds with one stone. It was just a matter of time before the tank let go.

  • Cheaper than fuel pumpand works just as good way to go.

  • @mutt1256 It works sweet. I might add the fuel level sender as well

  • should make a video about your David Brown and great videos as allways m8 :)

  • @roberto25721 I started to but it would not crank over very fast and didn't start. I need to get a really good battery for it. I will do it again very soon.

  • Good job and great vid! It must take forever to upload these vids out there in the middle of nowhere -from what I can tell.

  • @sc0tte1 Ya its an all night thing when I upload a 20 min video or more.

  • @ShawnCFarm That sucks...do you run off DSL by any change? I work for a large telecommunication company...a blue one lol...and I might be able to help you out remotely ;)

  • @sc0tte1 Yes its bell high speed, and like I said for some reason they limit the speed I upload and it sucks.

  • Nice.

  • @Bunkers101 Thanks my friend

  • oh man what a drag

  • @peckiledorf Its all better now, lol.

  • Im not a mechanic, Although after watching the video I can't see why you went through all the trouble of the bucket, lines, and clamps. I would have just drilled out the old fitting where it was leaking and ran a rubber hose through the drilled hole connecting it to the supply line.

  • back in the old days we used the 6 gallon outboard motor fuel cans, but back then there were no in tank fuel pumps... or return fuel lines

  • @dirtTdude Ya I know a guy with a 79 chev plow truck that has a boat tank in it. Works well and alot more safer

  • Not bad, that truck sound way better then it looks, lol

Is wood the main way you heat your house?

How long has it been since it was on the road?

When your wife came out to help you, did she tell you to hurry up, lol?

  • @redneckbryon Yes I heat only with wood and have oil as back up. If the power goes out here it dose not bother us. The truck was last on the road 4 or 5 years ago now. Its getting beat up now. At first she didn't want to come out lol

  • @ShawnCFarm Got much snow, are's is all gon!

That Car-Truck, on your channel picture, is it real?

  • @redneckbryon It was plus 8 today and all the snow is gone now lol. The bug is real look up tank track VW and you will see us cutting wood with it

  • Right on

  • @TheNeal666 Thanks my friend

  • So if you cant reopen the buckett, how ru going to refuel it?

  • @nickkyvel I can still open it if needed, I might add a screw on plug lator on.

  • "Seal all" is amazing stuff... Ya familiar with it? Many coats of it will likely stop the leak. Fixed one that was full of rust and pinholes.

    Have fun.

    TerryL

  • @Terrifacation I was going to mention "seal all" I second the recommendation the stuff does work...good call terrifacation

  • @fupabox SealAll is fawking AMAZING! I usedit for the first time last month, that stuff will absolutely seal ANYTHING!

  • @frigginwidowmaker I was thinking about it, but the rest of the tank didn't look good.

  • @Terrifacation Yes I've used it for fuel tank leaks, but the rest of this tank didn't look very good and was just a matter of time before it started to leak.

  • hate to say .....but-----one of these days your goin to blow yourself up

  • @bigpaw64 I've tried to lol.

  • nice redneck repair! lol

  • @306foxbody Thanks my friend

  • G'Day Shawn man u r freezing over there and here in Australia in my town today just over 40 spending most of the time in front of the AC great video mate and a great repair cheers brother

  • @wazclan1964 Nice, lol. I wish it would stay cold here. It was 8c here today. What a mess.

  • You gotta do what you gotta do, even if you are low on funds..you just have to make it happen.

  • @talfacprez Thats me all the time, make do with what I have.

  • nice job on the redneck repair

  • @topfireman Thanks

  • Never being one to side with common sense, I say do the air bag shoes! lol

  • @CDNBadass I'm saving that for you if you ever come down or meet up lol

  • Great repair and video Buddy!! My choice in that cold would have been to stick a rag in that fuel pump hole and light it!!☺

  • @805ROADKING Then I would have to use a shovel to do the drive way. No way lol.

  • had the same problum with my ford explore just found some copper tubing that fit in line and soldered it in

  • @swampratman2000 That would work, but the rest of this tank didn;t look good.
