It could still be a part 4, even if Marty McFly isn't in it. Doc had two sons, so it could be one of them who is the central character. The name doesn't mean much, as it would just be "Back To The Future:..." then have some tagline or something on it, without ever using "IV" or "4" even though it's the fourth movie.

I just kinda think Part 3 sucked in my opinion and half of Part 2 was just a remake of Part 1. I would wish the franchise had more of a fleshed out story arc.

I've always been hoping they do another sequel of my two favourite film franchises: Back To The Future and Ghostbusters. They've both been made into recent games. You should check out the more recent BTTF game. It's pretty cool.

@sony197 When Part 3 had ended, they had decided to stop the series there. But they came up with the idea to do both a Part 4 and Part 5 in 2000. They were set to be shot starting in 2001 and were going to possibly be released in 2002 or 2003. It was the end of Season 4 of "Spin City" when Michael J. Fox had to stop acting because the Parkinson's disease was making it hard for him to work- therefore he was unable to do any projects planned. That is why he started only doing just voices later on.

Soo easy... Someone finds the old video camera in the rubble from the ruined delorean as wells the plans for the flux capacitor. Maybe a place on the video that mentions this could be found in the tape. Another idea is that the train doc used could be found. The great thing is, instead of feeling bad that things like flying cars don't exist in 2015 could be explained away because some new time traveler or perhaps one of the Doc's sons could have changed history.

Actually, I would prefer unknown actors. Someone who has high energy and is very hard to ignore when they talk. At the same time I don't want any attempts to immitate the original duo. Maybe the son of Doc brown and someone he encounters could unravel the secrets of the time machine and build a new one. Or they could discover the train and repair it. It would have to totally unique, but at the same time it would follow the story. We can't use actors everyone has seen.
