Every year when I passed by the monument on the US 395, I'd wondered if anyone had allowed to go fishing on near by creeks of Manzanar during its occupied days. And, if they had, I'd wondered how.

I met one of the fishermen today, Jiro Matsuyama, who maintained the water supply for the camp and drove the jeep.
