This video was made before Drayson-Barwell got their GT2 machine which got to them less than 3 days before the Patron Long Beach ALMS race in 2008. They didn't use the regular fuel or tires that Aston Martin Racing had used in testing or in FIA GT races (late 2008).

They used cellulosic E85 ethanol and that had not been used by both Prodrive and Aston Martin Racing before 2008. Drayson Racing will be racing in North America, Europe, and Asia in 2009.

the reasons those motors were popping were not fuel issues. plus the e85 has been used and engineered for for quite some time now.

The DBR9 is obviously faster, but I think the Vantage makes the better sound.

usually GT2 cars are slower because of their limited engine size and power.

Yeah as well as less aerodynamics and GT2 cars are only allowed steel brakes where as GT1 have ceramic.

Drayson-Barwell will be using a Vantage GT2 in the ALMS, JWA will be using one in the LMS and Gigawave Motorsport will be using one in the FIA GT. :D

James Watt Automotive's application for the 76th 24 Hours of Le Mans was not accepted by the ACO. They will race in the Le Mans Series (1,000 km of Spa, Monza, Silverstone, and the like)
