@opethinchains No it's not.  It's pretty easy to play actually. Amazingly cool riff though.

@opethinchains the first note is the low e.  The majority of the riff is played in second position with a barre on the E A and D. The final faster note of the riff are a quick hammer on. Knowing that you should be able to pick it out by ear. Good luck and respect for using your ear.

@opethinchains name is a joke that some people are offended by (ie. I'm trolling). of course I don't claim to have more insight on every topic than everyone else. anyways I cannot tell you which mode it is since I do not have perfect pitch and therefore I would have to spend a good deal of time finding each note with relativity once i randomly establish at least one note in the riff. most people call this "working by ear," try it. find a note and then use your ear to find the others.
