  • It is not ANYWAYS IT IS ANYWAY ALL YOU FUCKING ILLITERATE IDIOTS OUT THERE.

  • lol "its not just for crazy hippies anymore..lol that was funny....but wow people are ignorant.

  • Where was this great video filmed at?

    Beautifully done!

  • Nice to see all this comments about mindfulness and Meditation :)

To all you guys who haven't tried it yet: JUST DO IT! Try it out for ten minutes a day for two weeks. Thats about the same time it takes to make another comment on youtube ;-)

  • my only bitch about mindfulness is that it should be a skill taught in high school to better the world and not hijacked by any specific industry i.e. psychology, yoga or religion...

these comments are all oriented in a religious, psych, yoga or political POV and frankly are by people who have no clue about mindfulness since they are angry, judgmental and either positive or negative and have nothing to do with just being.

  • Most humans are mindless sheeple, herd animals. That goes for most of the 'educated' ones as well.

Don't understand? Follow my links. Read the quotes page first.

  • @waypasthadenough , first, you talk about sheep. Herd animals just follow where the masses go - where you point the finger.

Then, you say: Follow my links. "Do this, read that". Are you consciously luring sheep people to follow your command? If I click my way into your links, I hope you tell us how you abused the very thing you criticize. This is the point of clarity: You fight against your own way of acting. When you stop fighting, and become what you want to see in the world, you're whole.

  • @hardg0re

actually I was just trying to get you to pull your head out of your ass, but some sheeple have to over complicate what should be a simple movement.

and you could have been halfway through my quotes page by now. But that might require real thought, harder than mindless arguing.

  • @waypasthadenough , I know. The ass pulling is what you do. The ass pulling is what you attract.

Now, someone, like me, came and pulled Your head out of Your ass.

You just used the same tactic as the cults you criticize. Focus on shit = becoming shit.

You seem to spread more hate and negativity from your work than acceptance.

Eventhough I agree with your deepest thoughts, I dislike how you feel. There seems to be a lot of pessimism in you. Do you live with joy, peace, love and happiness? :)

  • @hardg0re

The idea that enough sheeple may wake up someday to see the necessity of "Liberal" season gives me joy...

  • the people in this dvd have deterred me from investigating further. well done

  • Learn about mindfullness from a living master

    - search Youtube for SHINZEN

  • i am the infinitly wise seer

  • crazy hippies? those crazy hippies knew this before our society did and our society is still ignorant enough to outcast and judge instead of learning, accepting, and respecting our differences. next thing you know our society will claim it invented ancient eastern meditation. this is happening in the form of product design such as ikea furniture.

this society we live in is too into itself.

  • go read the book by thich nhat hanh "miracles of mindfulness"

  • 0:25: "Mindfulness is defined as a technique in which a person becomes intentionally aware of his or her thoughts and actions in the present moment WITHOUT PLACING JUDGMENT, VALUE, APPLYING LABELS OR CATEGORIZING."

1:50: "Another key way that many people could practice mindfulness is through the ever growing field of yoga, it's not just for CRAZY hippies anymore."

um excuse me lady, but it sounds like you're contradicting yourself, passing some judgment there calling hippies crazy. wow...

  • @rockrapgirl I think she was referring to the labels others gave to people who practiced yoga, the 'crazy hippies' part is probably with inverted commas.

  • @rockrapgirl So if "Mindfulness" means to be aware, does that means that when I am playing focus brain games (such as the games form Lumosity) I am working on mindfulness skills?

  • inspiring...love it !

  • The hostess of this clip is very attractive, sweet, smart, and cute , in a Marcia Brady sort of way. I want to intellectually kiss her niblets.

  • it is true that one doesn't have to be a buddhist to practice mindfullness. it has become very secluar and anyone can benefit from it. however, in buddism we believe that faith is one of the driving force behind mindfulness. it generates energy which leads to concentration and minfulness. mindfulness is extensively explored in buddisht scripture called "Mahasattipattana Sutta" but as i said before u can practice mindfulness even if you are not a buddhist. I hope you would succeed in ur practice

  • if this is true, i'm always freaking mindful.

  • @SexyRaww lol

  • it can cure depression and mental disorders many possitve effects my uncle said he would never meditate cause of his beliefe in the bible totally ignorant he said yoga and meditation are wrong of the devil

  • This was really helpful! Thanks!

  • @WWu777 Yup, I definitely have my mind full of those two!

  • excellent intro into mindfullness.

  • This is true.

  • oh my gosh look at those girls at the beginning!!

    bla bla bla......

awareness is going to make up everymorning!!

shut up please u vainer rich kid!!

  • video was well put together!! meditation is important!

  • Forgive me for inquiry but I am quite puzzled as to why this video seems to credit "crazy hippies" with the invention of yoga?

  • A throwaway line obviously

  • I don't think they are crediting the "crazy hippies" with inventing yoga, just that in the 70's and early 80's they mostly were apparently crazy hippies from the west who first discovered it and bout it back to the west.

In India back then it was all about practicing yoga early in the morning and smoking dope all day.

    Funny thing !

  • @pappuali i guess really it was just a informative video to explain who used to do it, infact, pardon me if I am incorrect, but I dont recall hearing that these "Crazy Hippie" Bretheren invented it...

  • Thanks for this! Feels good to me!

    Much Love, Blessings

  • Understand Meditation - The Concept

    watch?v=EkDm8guIjB0

  • i think the question of where meditation can be done and in what posture depends on the type of meditation. if one wants to go into deep concentration, then a safe, quiet environment is necessary.. but it is important to always be mindful in life

  • nice.....more more

  • GREAT, simple but meaningful!

  • good video with an easy to understand introduction to mindfulness.

  • Great Video....

  • Actually there are no conditions to practicing mindfulness. You only need to be right where you are right now - i.e. no special tree, no special place or time or calming environment.

And the point of meditation is not to introspect in the normal psychological sense of the word. The point if meditation is to know your true nature. But the only way to know your true nature is to quiet that which is not your true nature (i.e. mind). When mind stops, true nature arises without effort.

  • That is true - well said!

  • no joke here bro, that was a beautiful passage about meditation.

  • @mermadeinheaven excellent!

  • Great video, good job. I wish you 3 Happyness, Joy, Laughter and Prosperity in everything you do. Stay present, thankx :)

  • lol @ crazy hippies

  • hmmm... Question: If I am at work and need to make urgent and important decisions for my survival, how can I do this and be mindful of the here and now at the same time???

That's crazy! It's like being on auto-pilot, mindless when you need to survive. You need to reason, always think of the past (memory) and future (your plans) to get the job done; or else, how would you get paid for what you have earned?

Maybe you have an answer for this dilemma

  • Be aware that you fill cornered in by this thought and accept it.

  • When I am called in at 3AM because the Central Monitoring Station in the ICU has crashed, and, as a technician, I must take responsibility for getting it up an running, before anyone dies, I am thankful that I spend 45 minutes meditating everyday, so that I can count on complete focus and clarity in my thinking.

Obviously mindfulness meditation is not mindless as you suggest. Just the opposite.

If you are having difficulty surviving, perhaps you need to be more proactive and mindful.

  • @Mwaterfall mindfulness can help in making these decisions. When you become completely mindful ( although i can't say this from a truly experienced side :P ) you can observe these thoughts, or decisions, or ideas in your mind, from a distance, and view them objective from different angels, and come to a conclusion of whether or not they are rational

  • Yoga was never made for physical health. Ask any true Yogi from India. Its spiritually dangerous. Please research yoga.

  • Yoga is spiritually dangerous? Please do explain...

  • C.G. Jung " One often hears and reads about the dangers of Yoga, particularly of the ill-reputed Kundalini Yoga. The deliberately induced psychotic state...is a danger that needs to be taken very seriously indeed... and ought not to be meddled with in our typically Western Way. It is a meddling with Fate, which strikes at the very roots of human existnece and can let loose a flood of sufferings of which no sane person ever dreamed..hellish..torments..."

Collected Works and Tibetan Bk of Dead

  • What is the evidence of a spirit? And, what is the evidence (not what is purported) that yoga could be harmful to anyone even in the psychological sense (if this is what you mean by spiritual?

  • You must check the true Indian gurus. This yoga has been around for 1000s of years, how all of sudden it just become a physical exercise in the Western World? It didnt, You need to research what the true Yogis say abou true danger of Yoga.

  • Mindfulness...the ultimate cognitive therapy.

  • GOOD video. Awareness is the key. That is 'you'. YOu are that! That is enlightenment, the end of pain and suffering. Knowing that you are awareness and not your thoughts.

  • good job kids. can't disagree with a single point. I especially liked the low bar definition of meditation...good approach for beginners. You're all so darn cute...gives me hope for the next generation :).

  • great video

  • liked video, would have been better talking a little slower, background noise drowned out voice.

  • (no ? after 'keep up the good work')

  • hey yall what's up..? I enjoyed the video... I thought I was the only one who was into mindfulness! It's made my life a whole lot better... keep up the good work? Wherever You Go There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn is the book I learned from... u might wanna check it out.. Alright,, buh bye!
