  • Hmm I had dual and I was thinking of getting one big TV, thank God I watched this video (y)

  • its a 2008 vid lol

  • For someone who seems technologically inclined, he doesn't have a very good quality camera :-P

  • @potterlovergirl he has great cameras. It's just that this video was live on his website(originally) and he used his mac mini to film it. It was an older model of the mac mini. So the quality sucks

  • 25" Hanns.G (My main machine. i5 Mac Mini)

    22" LG (Hackintosh machine)

Sharing Keyboard and Mouse. Just seeing if i prefer it to using dual screens on one computer

  • I tried using two big but never used all the space efficiently. I'd say go for 1 small and 1 big. Usualy I run software on big monitor and tutorial on smaller monitor.

  • I have one big monitor and one small screen

  • @appleguy1227 As was his comment xD

  • Fuck that, his monitor is only 17 inches get a 27 and be done with it.

  • @ModelOrange Dude. What are you on about? :S

  • @MasterHackintosh I wish I had a hackintosh... :(

  • I always buy a bigger monitor than what I have already. Dual monitors dont have to be same sizes....

  • does anybody know a monitor that is cheap (under $200) and large? i have a small tv with horrible sound and i want to get a monitor for my xbox instead of using my crap tv Also if anybody knows if there is a way to hook up your monitor to use it as a tv with inputs please tell me

  • I have one monitor, I'm using it to watch movies, but if I would use 2 17 inch instead of one 24 inch, it would have been 2 small images instead of 1 big.

For the "chat-problem", I use my (i)Phone to chat while in games or I just use skype.

  • if you run 2 monitors defiantly, Google a program called UltraMon even for 2 or more monitors best program i've ever seen for multiple monitors

  • if you run 2 monitors defiantly, Google a program called UltraMon

  • my computer will work with dual monitors, right now i have a 35", i wanted to know will a 45" work with that?

  • Multi monitor vs one bigger monitor is my choice.

  • i have a duel Monitor setup and i love in Ireland

  • What about gaming which is better.

  • Dual is COOL! :D

  • screw what i previously said get a Projector :D! 100inch picture XD :)3

  • lawl GIant 24inch? lol my 27" i got and a 19" tv XD can u se those together lol

but if i get 2 27 inch damm awesome lol

a big 42" tv would be cheaper than two 20" so..... 42 is better but if u can afford 2 27 inchers thats.. pretty much the best because 30" x2 is too big lol

  • Screw both, 2 BIG monitors. ;)

  • @officialpixelstudios 3 big :D!

  • @officialpixelstudios triple projectors is the best

  • @beansterman1998 That sucks, IMAX 3D PROJECTS! Yeah! haha.

  • what is the differnce between ddr3 1333 or like the ddr3 1600?? is higher the better or is lower the better??

    also this is in ram.

  • @713newfie ... lol ddr3 1600 cuz the diffference is that the 1333 has 1333mhz and the 1600 has 1600 mhz meaning faster XD

  • i have never have a problem with my 2 screens, but hes using mac and im using windows

  • so what size monitors do you have?

  • Yeah, I would rather have more than one screen to use. I know what its like going from two to one.

  • Gotta sit like 3 metres back from the screen if you have 2x 20 inch screens, looking 40 inches there and back to check your health or whatever is going to get extremely annoying, i prefer single monitor.

  • I work on a macbook pro and take it all over with me. I found that dual monitors is much better if you can constantly have it. If you however can't then you'll find it quite annoying when you're on the go and don't have the secondary monitor because you're so used to it. For that reason my secondary monitor at home is just a clone of my main monitor (but larger screen so more space to work). Its also better for watching movies & such because there is no line down the center :3

  • I just bought two 23.5" monitors with HDMI to connect to my computer... Waiting for them to arrive... :D

  • tone it down

  • 2560x1600 x 30inch monitors over 8 Million pixels cor i want

  • whoa who came thru and thumbed down all the comments?

Dual screen FTW! for a while I had a 32 lcd tv as my main and a 19 monitor. It was epic! however the tv had a problem with image persistence.

  • 2560x1600 beats mine 1440x900

  • Dual "MONTIORS" ftw

  • can u like have a game running on one monitor full screen, and then something else completely different on the other?

  • yes, i do that myself, however, u cant click anything on the second monitor, becuz if u do, ur game will no longer be active and will auto minimize. what i usually use it for is to have ventrillo or skype to talk to my clan while playing.

  • o, thanks for the reply

  • yes.

  • Dual 42 in. Vizios... run it on my Ubuntu!! HAHA

  • @farter1255 What the hell do you need that for?!?

  • There is Never TOO much screen aera on a computer

  • he is a freak :p

  • dual monitors is spelt wrong as the Topic

  • Any1 know any cool dual monitor softwares? And I mean something good and something cheap, and by cheap I mean free! :)

  • There isnt software for dual monitors

  • @kiddkaos1 Yes there is! For example desktoptopia which supports dual monitors.

  • dual monitor is built into pretty much every operating system, you don't need special software

  • My bad, what i meant was something similar to Ultramon and MultiMon, something to let me use different wallpapers on each screen etc :)

  • any actual os -.-

  • are those running off of your laptop

  • i hooked mines up to my tv at first and it was so cool but my dad wanted to watch tv on that tv so i had to hook it up to my crappy crt monito but twice the work tho

  • I have a 60'' Samsung LED TV and I hook up my laptop to it and just use a wireless keyboard and mouse.....the bigger the better =)

  • I am a software developer and I also do video editing. I thought dual monitor would be great. Actually, it's not all that useful. You can't really look at or focus on both at the same time. For me, it's easier to hit alt-tab than to have to look over at the other screen. Anything I don't need to look at right away can be quickly found via alt-tab or with Windows 7 taskbar mouseover. Not good for gaming as dual doesn't work in full screen. Still using 2, but not convinced it's great.

  • i am gona get dual monitors cos there just cool and usefull

  • Cool Chair! ^^

  • Once you use dual monitors you will feel confined using any setup with a single. But it's worth it.

  • I use a 15" display for my laptop to do main things, then hook it up to a 15" CRT for Skype and video rendering and stuff. Not worth the money to buy an LCD just for that! Dual monitors rock!

  • i have a 24" monitor and a 19" monitor, im not sure how its going to work...will it work for dual? and if so will i be able to change their resolutions?

  • The best advice I can give is to go with multiple monitors. and put one in PORTRAIT mode. With text, pdf's, most web pages they are not optimized for widescreen. Viewing them at 10:16 aspect ratio instead of 16:10 is far more natural.

  • kids or duals LOL I vote for duals!

  • you need a better quality video cam

  • @avocadomilk

Maybe it's because it was a recorded stream...

  • you should probably invest in a better video camera...

  • You do realize that this video is over a year old right?

  • umm...

    yes.

  • I agree with DjVaulsey, dual-screen gaming is bad as there are a few games that actually support dual-monitor and not your "span". The list is short and most of the games on the list are surprisingly older games.

Anyone ever play Deus Ex? Yeah, I was surprised to hear that it supports it, probably very poor though. I'm just getting it for Photoshop and Flash.

  • i dunno, i wonna try it but i'm not sure how i go with it, probaly not for me. i'm still keen to try it.

  • at 2:35 exactly.. you mention you have other spaces. How do I do that? That is something I have never seen.

    Thank You

  • I might get a second for my laptop

  • i have one its above my laptop looks beautiful

  • this might sound ridiculous but what type of computer desk do you suggest to get.

  • mahogany!

  • nah duals are rubbish for gaming....i beleive

  • i was wondering will dual monitors work for full screen games like will the screen continue to the next on the game?

  • That depends on the game.

  • When you click on anything in the other screen, the game minimizes. You can still read the text, though.

  • Yeah it depends on the game. I have 2 moniters

  • now you can say 3 30 in. monitters of kids

  • LMFAO kids or geekyness.... i choose geekyness when i grow up. im selfish like that... no kids = more money = less problems leaving me happeh.

  • i like my dual. but yeah i usually have to edit config files for games, because it either puts it on one of my screens, but with the dual screen resolution which fucks it up. but i end up fixin it.

  • I thought about buying 2 LCD monitors, but I have a HTPC/Gaming PC so I decided to go with a 44" LCD tv.

  • phat

  • It's clean with two big screens, like u. but i think its more comfortable with one screen, then again its nice if u wanna have like mail on the other one, but that doesnt bother me.... anyway! nice vid =)

  • "People dont have LCDs in Mexico" Vaya idiota, pero bueno, esto me convencio para comprar otra de 20"

  • I only have one 19" 4:3 screen at the moment, but i've been thinking of getting a second screen in 16:9. Mainly because a lot of video is 16:9 and having black bars can be annoying.

  • i cant i need to game

  • Dual is cool chris

  • in his case i think big monitor but in my case i play alot of games and my 27 inch doesnt support the resolution so i do dual monitors

  • Dual Monitors > One big monitor.

If you're a gamer, its really great to be able to play a game in one monitor and having the other free monitor to chat, web browse, etc. Only if of course your rig is up to this challenge of multi-tasking.

  • SWWEEEEETTT!!!

    i wasnt dual

  • @ICDWILL117 That's funny. You talk about dual monitors being better than one big monitor, then mention gaming.

    DS FTW!

  • @TooSlowGamer Not everyone is turned off by gaming on a small / medium display, Though, everyone has their own definition of what a small screen is and what a big screen is.

I say, save up more money and just buy two 'big' monitors. Problem solved.

  • @ICDWILL117 Agreed dude. But, when I try to play a game. I cant use the stuff on my other monitor my game just always minimizes and that is pain! Please reply.

  • @VvEinarvV This is true, this is why I usually play most of my games in window mode. that way you can truly multi-task and you game wont minimize on you.

  • @ICDWILL117 I know. But some games don't have window mode? D:

  • @VvEinarvV Well in that case Id say your shit out of luck. lol. Me on the other hand, got another system for side task if I'm gaming or doing something else on my main computer. Then use synergy to share a single mouse and keyboard.

    Only other option.

  • @ICDWILL117 My rig is up to anything BITCH!

  • I live in mexico.

when i have time I always visit o live pirillo.

I sometimes "borrow" my moms monitor and conect it to my notebook.

Its really much more comfortable to have 2 monitors even if they are small. My notebook has a 15.4" widescreen and my moms monitor is a normal (square) 15" .

    =D

  • lol to play gameas with 2 monitors sucks...

  • haha noob its not if u use it right for flight sims and stuffs;

  • 3 screens in much better.

  • Lol yeh dual monitor setup is more practical. But I couldn't possibly imagine Chris with Dual 17's LMAO.

  • duel monitors are awsome...

  • I HAVE 3 MONITERS LOL

  • can u plug in 9 20' monitors? making a 3x3 square of 20' monitors (simply, a 60' monitor)

  • It would be hard...you would need enough VGA or

DVI ports. I can't think of any motherboards that would support enough video cards with that many video outputs...but even if you could, the price would be very expensive.

  • yeah obviously it would be expensive, but all the same, HOW AWESOME :) thx

  • lol why the fuck do you have soo many thumbs down you didnt do anything... (just felt like posting a comment)

  • lol why the fuck do you have soo many thumbs down you didnt do anything... (just felt like posting a comment)

  • I have never heard of a 20 foot monitor :)

  • ah my bad, 20 inch :)

  • It would be cheaper and look better if you just got a 60" LCD. It would be heaps better. This goes for everyone. If you use your pc for work, 2x smaller screens. If you watch alot of movies. get a larger screen.

  • lmao a 60", that would be expensive...

  • trip 19's, and I'll never go back.

  • i like duel monitor, cause i can play a game fullscreen, surf net, use photoshop/programming stuff while i can watch a video/use IM/have teamspeak open etc

  • Dual monitors are fine if you actually have a need for it. IMO the average PC user doesnt need dual monitors for what they use the PC for. Note: there is a difference between need and want. I'm speaking about need.

  • I want to go dual.

  • Dual - definitely.

  • I have a Mac mini, with one video card. I have a 27" LCD and a 15" CRT, both VGA (and the Mac mini only has a DVI port (and I have a VGA to DVI adaptor), and would like to set up a dual-screen... set up. How would I go about doing this?

  • you can get an adaptor. You plug all monitors into the adaptor and then the video card recognises it as a very wide monitor. It will probably be cheaper to buy a new card though!

  • I used dual monitors until my system started going slow because I had too much open.

  • 1 17" portrait...it sucksZ

  • dual might be more efficient, as you have the ability to turn off the second monitor when don't need it. It's more expandible.

  • Go for the 24" LCD.

  • one dell 30" (like yours) and one dell 20" (portrait)

  • too bad there samsung

  • ah... no. the ones that chris has are dell...

  • I have a 15.4" Dell Inspiron. I usually only use 1 monitor because my other one is a clunker and also messes up my etc/X11/xorg.conf file. Might use it when watching a video in XP though.

  • Having dual monitors will allow you get get more work done, in more ways than you think. Play a game, search for tips etc on the other monitor, this is only one example of what having 2 monitors will help you with. It allows me to have 3-5 applications open at any giving time, and all within the monitors resolution. Now if you dont have the space for 2 monitors, I recommend you go with a decent size (22-30inch) LCD/CRT so you are able to achieve close to what 2 monitors allow you to do!

  • chris i would rahter have 2 big monitors becasue more room and more of a faster process

  • Hay I'm from Ireland we love duel screens(yes we have pcs(MS+linux)+macs).....I'm so glad the advertising is gone from the his youtube videos :D

  • have you seen the bottom left lol

  • w000t yay MONTREAL!

    (and its pronounced mont-ree-uhl)

  • I have 2 19" LCD widescreen monitors it is very very nice lots of space. But now being with them for almost a year they are not big enough I should invest in 30"+ when I have the money for them

  • 1 to keep ur eyes safe 2 if u dont care. cuz programs out there that can make 8 desktops on 1 screen and u can lean ur pc up so 2 is useless

  • he looks like shit in this video.. haha

  • Dual monitors rock. I use two matching Sony 21" CRTs (2048 x 1536 resolution) with my Power Mac G5. When I replace these, it will probably be with a pair of 27" LCD displays.

  • bla bla bla bla, gee cut the crap.

  • I have a 22" ViewSonic Monitor

I like 1 monitor cuz less space

  • i got two 20" both 1680x1050

  • I have two monitors. Its awesome

monitor 1 Samsung 226BW (front): games

monitor 2 Viewsonic CRT17" (right): messenger, tv, mp3, web :)

  • i am from uk and have two monitors. The imac and a secondary small dell one. I usually put msn on the dell one and homework or the web design on the imac one. I also put itunes on the dell one unless im updating it so yh, dual is cool.

  • got 1 42 running at 1920x1080 atm..gonna add anopther soon :D

and anyone doing dual screen under windows i would reccomend ultramon as it allows you to have a second task bar on the other screen and many more cool features

  • i do agree, dual monitors rule...

but only after a certain point...unless they're each at least 20" it's not worth it

    1 x 20" > 2 x 17" in my opinion

  • yea ireland!

  • When i seen Chris,s duel screens when he first got them i had to get two going. Now have two 17in and it is great playing chess having music going and writing a letter i love them even if they are only 17 in.

  • I have a 19" Dell and a 17" Samsung.

    It's great!

  • I have Triple monitors all 24" but i only use 2 at any one time unless i am gaming. But yeah if i had the chance i would buy Dual and not just one big monitor.

  • Dual monitors are better than kids. :)

  • i have 2 lcd 1 is 21 and 1 17 (dell)

  • lol Evil laugh Chris!

  • I really want a second monitor, but I have no idea if my graphics card could support another one. =\

  • if you tell me the model of your video card, i can tell you if it supports double monitors :)

  • Ah thanks, but I found out that it doesn't. I never really bothered to look to see if it has room to connect two monitors. xD

The problem is, my graphics card is built into my motherboard, so it looks like I'll need a new motherboard to have dual monitors. -_-

  • oh no, thats a big mistake ;D

i had a built in graphics card in my motherboard and i still have it but ive disabled it and put a nice 7300GT that fully supports dual monitors. You just need to determine if you have an AGP or PCI-E port for a graphics card. Those are different, and you have to be carefull not to buy the wrong one. IM me or comment in my profile. Good Luck!

  • Dual monitors are awesome. I currently have my computer hooked up to a 32" HDTV, but I really wish I had a dual monitor setup, mostly because I work with photoshop and some video editing software and dual monitors would be best for that...........I'm rambling.

You are right about the screen real estate.

  • i would love to have a dual monitor setup . problem is buying a second lcd :(

  • Dual is cool in my book.
