It's DEMOCRATS who just voted to continue funding of the war. We can point fingers at Republicans all we want, but if DEMOCRATS would assume a leadership role by unanimously refusing to sign off on further funding of this war, subsequent polls would show that their constituents stand by them 100%, and the Republicans' attempts at painting Democrats as cowards would backfire, thus paving the way for Republican support for the cessation of funding for this war. That's called politics.

You got your facts mixed up. Theyre not vontinuing the war. The supplemental they passed was to set a timetable of withdrawl. Bush will veto it. Then theyll throw it back at him again and by that point Bush will own the war and the country will be adomently against him and tada! troops come home. Get with the facts.

Yes, sir, and that is precisely the problem. I want an immediate stop to the funds for this war--timetables and semantics about vetoes do not do that. The Democrats need to stop playing chess with American lives in Iraq and refuse to fund this war for any reason immediately. Russ Feingold is the ONLY democrat who openly endorses this. others, like Carl Levin, find it easier to say things like "we will fund the war, but . . ." I want no funds and no buts. I want us out of Iraq TODAY.
