Every performance of Judy's is a one act play; she tells the story with her eyes. She gives her all in each and every song. There will never be anyone to even come close to her talent.
The OVERTURE and the dramatic Appearance of this Incredible God Given singer just gives me chills. It all builds up and it's 100% Bedlam from there on til the last note is played for this Special in 1962.
the audience went nuts when she appeared and was withher during the whole show. just listen to them go nuts at the end of this opening segment! Now that IS magic
Although this special was broadcast on CBS, it was shot at NBC, which is why the sound is excellent. Compare it with her version on her CBS series the next year and you'll hear a big difference. The special was in b&w and was colorized to sell as "Judy, Frank and Dean" but it is unlikely she wore purple, or had purple lips.
She was a real singer...

Bing Crosby, perhaps, said it best: "At her best, there was nothing that girl couldn't do...except take care of herself."
This is Judy at her best.
