  • One of the nicest features is that you can pull out the battery so you can charge it anywhere.

  • One good thing compared to scooters or mopeds is that you probably don't need a license to drive an an electric assist bike, you could probably get away with driving it on the sidewalk if you go slow (if the road is clogged with heavy traffic) and they are 'cleaner'. One issue though is in the rain, it is still a bike so you're feet will get wet unless covered. Scooters have better protection from the wind and rain for the whole body, particularly if you have a big windscreen and a raincoat.

  • The console look flimsy, too much pressure and the console breaks off

  • the problem with trek electric bikes is that they use really cheap components; most of the cost of the bike s in the electric assist system

  • I've just taken the Trek FX + bike out for a test ride and what a bike. My fitness level is not very good at the moment and i normally only ride a short distance and need to stop for a rest but this bike allows you to keep going, on setting 4 (the hightest assist level) the bike will do most of the work for you and as you get fitter you can drop the assist level so the battery last longer. Take one for a test ride your'll love it.

  • i don't see any real innovations here. The motorcycle companies have innovated more than the bike companies have. Hopefully if i can find a way to get my ideas out on a showcase, people will REALLY see where the industry should be heading, and then everyone would copy me. :D

  • After making a few enquiries, these bikes are not available in Ireland.

  • @Rinty145 Look into the Gepida reptilla which is a really nice assist bike made in Europe.

  • @Rinty145... It's bad enough driving a car around Ireland lol!

  • I would like to compare it to my Kalkhoff Agattu pedalec.

  • Ok, I want it for sure.

  • Love my electric-assist Trek!! And great video. I'll make sure to heed the warning re opening the motor. How did you keep a straight face with that line??

  • How long can the battery be used until it needs to be re placed?

  • the regen is only 3% why do they say 10%. that's 3% every 100 miles.. Gimick

  • Looks like a nice ride, and I like the integrated back light and battery. I really like the Generate feature as well. Is the Ride+ available in the USA or UK/Ireland and what is the cost? Very happy to see electric bicycles getting more popular.

  • Website says 350 Watt? Lets see it riden for christ sake.
