I live off of burncoat st and all the neighbors had to clear a tree away so we could leave our street. Ice was flying everywhere!!!!! Horrible for everyone with their homes damaged:(
I was in North Greendale, and man, that was a warzone. My dead-end street got blocked off by a couple trees, and we spent a week just trying to clear it out to get cars through. I made grocery runs to Sam's Club down behind West Boylston street on my friend's dirtbike for a while, haha. I was the only one with hot water because I still use gas. 1 shower for, like, 25 people.
okay i don't understand i was on belmont an vernon during this storm and i don't see what was so bad... i still had power... maybe it was the developing areas of worcester that lost power
@squall00258 There was a line, like when the tornado came through. 1/2 of Shrewsbury you'd never know there was even a storm the other 1/2 was a disaster. We were cleaning up the debris into May the following year. $8,900.00 damage to my house ... and I was one of the lucky ones. It as a very eerie night with all the trees cracking, sounded like gun shots. I'll never forget it.
@mike12396 Tons of people had no power for long periods of time. Uniltel, one of the electric companies in the area is facing charges in court for this exact thing because of this storm.
i live in shrewbury just came from worcester i lived over near burncoat were u guys filmed in my neighborhood we didnt loose any power lmao tht storm was crasy wst. mountin street wil never look da same
yea that storm was crazy. my house got smashed in. i only have 1 car and that got destroyed. man it sux.half my home is completely gone all these trees. and the worse part was that there was no school.

a month is a bit of an exageration, considdering that 95% of Unitel customers were back in service in 10 days, not 30!
mike12396 2 years ago
mike12396, then there is the 5%, 3 weeks +/- for some in Leominster, Fitchburg, Sterling.

Funny thing was I kept my power, living in an older part of Worcester w/ underground wiring.
BUT - my parents didn't have power for about five days - they live in the suburbs.

Crazy storm. Good footage of the destruction.

if u went to like park ave it is a different world
Dmanskater11 3 years ago
There was very little damage between Park Ave and downtown Worcester - some broken trees in the Becker College area, but that's pretty much it.
North of Greendale got destroyed, though -- my parent's neighborhood looked like a warzone. Even now, there are still trees all over the place.

this was insane. three cars got crushed by a tree
