Yes I wrote this song. I was inspired to write it based on a quote from the movie "Secondhand Lions" that is listed in the video's profile description.
"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-victorious."
Thank you...I enjoy writing songs that have a meaning, message, or lesson in them...the vacuous pre-packaged stuff on mainstreamed radio far too often lacks that....the trick though is not to get too preachy and keep the message open enough to appeal to more than just a handful of people.
I've just found your vids by looking for altar layouts. I have to say that I'm very impressed.. I was expecting covers. I'm going to look at the rest now. Keep it up and thanks for getting me over my writters block ;)
Glad you found your way here. I do do cover songs (mostly Celtic Folk stuff) but I use Youtube to get feedback on my original stuff...it encourages me to keep working on my own music and not get caught up in self-doubt.
you wrote this song?.. and.. why is it like the message is a line in the movie 'the secondhand lions'.. just wondering.. =P
