Lol, it's because this is like the pilot "episode" it's before color has been restored to the land. AFter she defeats the bad dude all the color comes back and Starlight gets colorful again.

I am such a loser for knowing all this ... but i used to watch it all the time as kid. And now i'm 23 and still love cartoons .... and read Martin Heidegger. Fun life man.

I miss this cartoon. Back when I was a kid you could sport a rainbow or like rainbows and you were just being a kid. It was normal. Now, isn't a rainbow a gay pride symbol? Nothing wrong with anyone who's gay but now you can't sport/wear a rainbow or say you love rainbows without your sexuality being questioned :\
