My step dad has a 06 charger with 68k miles and it had 3 problems going on with it including a re-wiring system that failed TWICE and his transmission failed. He used to own a 03 impala ss and it kept giving us engine problems and the a/c compressor failed which cost almost a grand to get repaired. My Audi has yet to have any problems and its going on 70k miles.

This vehicle is completely necessary when you live in the middle of suburbia. Shit like this is why GM sucks. People brag about 20mpg hwy, but it only gets 20 when you do 60mph, but every time I see one it is blowing past me at like 80mph, so its really getting like 15mpg. My experiences have been different from yours. I have owned ford/dodge/gm and as far as durability is concerned, my gm trucks have held up alot better than my fords and dodges.

The new Hemi is actually pretty intense. It's more powerful than the Tundra's 5.7 iForce; it's got 390 horsepower and 407 lb.-ft. of torque. On regular. I believe the GM 6.2 requires premium, and has only 13 more horsepower and 10 more pounds of twist. So I wouldn't be putting down the new Hemi. It's a very impressive engine and squeezes out a lot of horsepower for its size, and not guzzling gas like crazy. Tundra's worse.

@erdoganog Well some of us already paid ours off so its not a useless gas drinking hog, its a street legal tank pretty much and so what if gas gets over $5.00, just means some people wont be driving so more room for us to drive our suburbans and tahoes and other SUVs without people like you in a prius getting in the way.

kay? i dont drive a prius and never will.... there is a difference in owning a fuel efficient diesel inline 4 or gasoline inline 4 or small 3.0 v6 vs some 5.6 liter big old v8 there is a huge difference and well good luck to ya prices are already 4$ it wont be long when it hits 6$ not even 5$ with this rate 5$ is gonna come in a few months

The last chevy tahoe and all chevy trucks were literally the weakest things on the road weaker then any small car toyota or honda but they were fuel efficient for their size. They made the new one 500 pounds heavier and tougher and it still is a little more fuel efficient nice work!

but owner satisfaction & resale value of Tahoe are both higher than Expedition. For now, the 2008 Expedition beat the Tahoe in reliability, but historically, the Tahoe has won more long term dependability awards than Ford's expedition. Eventually, things will change once again.

I think this Tahoe did good. If you look closely, you can see the pressure dispence outward, causeing not to go deeper into the frame.

40mph may seem slow, but when you are going 40 and another car coming at you are doing 40, the crash will have a force greater than doing 80mph.

Actually the truck did very well.
All the restraints worked correctly
there was no foot intrusion in the cabin.
The test dummy's movement was controlled well it went into the airbag, and back into the seat.
The trucks crush zones were used effectively.
The trucks hood buckled where it was supposed to. And the wheel wells cept their shape and were not pushed inside the cabin.

And I know allot of you think 40 miles an hour is to slow of a crash test but the majority of crashes occur at 35-40 miles an hour. Take into considerazation that this would be the speed in which most crashes occur after a driver slams on the brakes before a collision. I.e. going 50-60 miles an hour.
Crash test are a test of a vehicles structure and crash worthiness. Not what will always happen if you are in a crash, that's why they are called "tests"

it means when two cars collide head on, both doing 60, you combine thier speed and that is the speed of the collision impact. I say 60 because that is the national spped limit in the UK so two cars colliding at 60 is a typical collision. For example, if one car was doing 40mph and the other 30mph, the collision impact would occur at 70 MPH, or the equivilent of hitting a test wall at 70MPH!

This is not a typical US test. The IIHS tests vehicles in an offset crash at 40 mph. The average crash in the US happens at 40 mph and is a mid-front crash. The lowest highway speed limits range from 55mph to 80mph, but in most crashes the driver has time to react, braking & turning away, hence the mid-front @40 mph. These tests simulate the same cars crashing.If a Honda Civic gets a good rating & hits a F-350 PU it loses. Head on crashes like this rarely happen.

Tell that to the guy who died in front of my house when a mustang crossed into his lane doing 100+. Really messed up that the guy in the truck died with his seat belt on and the three drunks in the car all survived while only one was wearing a belt. Two were able to walk away from the accident. The other was treated an released.

This is a late response, but for future reference, consider the weight of the cars during a two car frontal collosion.
If a car hits a solid barrier at 40 mph, it's equivalent to the same car going 40 mph crashing into the same car going the same speed, because of the weight. The weight would be equal, thus creating the same forces in action. Comon' man, Newton's law? This is 5th grade stuff.
