  • Could you imagine today -- she holds up a door card? It just wouldn't have the same effect as the key! When this video came out I thought the girl was so hot, actually she's a little weird looking. No decade beats the 80's for music!!!

  • It's just crazy with such a simple drum part that they would need 2 drummers and Rush with their complexity would use one...it blows my mind.

  • Good Music ..

  • Pretty amazing...the real bands actually played their own instruments and sang,.

  • I recently saw these guys at artpark!

  • Amazing guitar work by all. One of my favorite solos OF ALL TIME.

  • this one will stick forever!! all those crazy nights!! wooowooo hahaha

  • Love this song :) Me and my dads

  • Bad ass video. My fave 38 song. I was a sr in h.s. when it came out. Played it LOUD many, MANY times. Still my fave.

  • @nintendomasterjake in Spanish you say I have so many years. So that's the literal translation from what I'm assuming is his first language.

  • Can you believe I heard them for the first time In Brooklyn NY!!!...

  • mins 3:02 to 3:04 heheh like Loony Tunes :D

  • Thanks to YouTube I can witness this wonders. I was born in 1992 :)

  • I hope my neiberhod like this song!

  • Great lyrics my girl friend and I were born in the 90s but want more 80s music xP

  • 2 drummers, southern rock !!!

  • love the 80's music forever wonderfull song !!!!!

  • First heard 38 special in the 80s. These dudes sure have some *fantastic* music!!

  • Love this video!

  • Wow, best (cheesy) 80's movie that has this song in it is "spring break" pricesless. I have a love/hate relationship with the 80's, leg warmers, acid wash, and big hair. But god some of the music just takes you back to that moment and your heart starts to pound.

  • this song reminds me of going to the skating rink in the early 80's. maybe if kids did that now days there would be less overweight kids

  • this song reminds me of spring break 1982!!! who here remembers that year? thumbs up if you do!!!

  • Truth be told, back then, everyone was recovering from leisure suits, so clothes, lack of rythym, it's excusable, everyone put the leisure suits down and stepped away quietly.

  • Apparently white boys cant dress either, one white boy to another.

  • This has to be the most badass song and video in history

  • Great band 38 Special, VEVO sucks ass!!!

  • I've seem these guys live many times and they always kick ass. I love this song but the same thing comes to mind every time i see this video ( as it did the first time i saw it on MTV 30 years ago )...White boys can't dance! ...lol

  • i like this song and just i have 13 years old

  • @carlosgabriel90 "I am 13 years old" not "I have 13 years old."

  • Brings back pleasant soooooooooooo many great memories of my youth.. This song always stopped me in tracks and always made me feel good.

  • @beatricemcmullen ~ me too! = )))

  • The first time I heard this song was in cover form by We the Kings, but I absolutely fell in love with the lyrics! This song is absolutely amazing.

  • was that Artimas Pyle? i did not realize he played with 38!

  • @bluegrassreb1 I was thinking the same thing.

  • 11211965,,, I think you mint Donnie instead of Ronnie.

  • love this tune and this video, the girl in it is even good looking by today's standards not just 80's hot lol

  • I don't think many of the people posting were even born in the 80's. 38 Special was a very good band with Don Barnes, Ronnie Van Zant, and two Drummers. They cranked out a lot of hits so they must have been doing something right.

  • I totally agree. I'm a "direct result" of the true 80's; and, that old school Ronald Mc Donald shirt is hilarious

  • I didn't know Kevin McHale did rock videos when he wasn't playing for the Celtics

  • i know the black headed drummer in that video he is freinds with me and my mom.

  • {{[{sarcasm= sars casm = china}}]}

  • {XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX}

  • sarcasm is not appreciated..

  • Apparently the razor blade wasn't invented until after the 1980's.

  • Perhaps one of the BEST, if not best Guitar Solo of 1982.

It's Summer, it's College, it's the long brown haired girl with the sun dress on, sitting across from me...with her knees up under her chin...and no panties on...

Caught UP..you bet...God Bless Her where ever she is now.

  • Like if you seen this on Squidbillies

  • That male in the relationship looks like ex-Boston Celtics star Kevin McHale.

  • Fuck you idiots basing this song on the video! Damn, it's a good song, watch the vid uploaded with the lyrics or something instead. Judge based on the tunes, the 70' or 80's were what they were. Pigs.

  • Love Love Love~!

  • Record companies are bunch of sell outs who cater to the crap music of today for quick money!! Real music like this takes time to record, it's like good food, it takes time. Today's music is like fast food, crap in crap out!!

  • @bonovox1970ify Actually, even good food is crap out.

  • that's a professional hussy right there

  • @GrandMasterGuess ..Like the girls today r sweet innocent

  • @kashmir746 girls today are skanks

  • @TheBiongnoila You're asking the question on the YouTubes through the Interwebs of the DotCom machines. Ask in public and your answer will be revealed.

  • 38 Special i love this song and there all most close to boston there both amazing♥

  • I still have the high score on that Gorf machine. Great band that actually writes and plays there own music. Not for the greedy attention span challenged music industry of today.. Rock on!

  • "Awesome video "

  • SUPER CLASS and the blonde also

  • The guitar player playing the "Explorer", is he wearing an "Ernie" or "Bert" shirt?

  • Great song..i really love 80's!

  • 80'S FOREVER!!!! FUCK THIS AMERICAN IDOL AND X FACTOR. AMATEUR , CORPORATE GARBAGE.

  • @pirate78118 amen brother

  • Great song! This video is like a perfect little 80's time capsule - the hair and clothes styles, the video games - I feel like I'm back there!

  • This one goes out to "Baby Cakes" who I loved having beside me watching 38 Special in the front row at Hawaii's NBC arena way back in the mid 80's! Miss u so much!

  • these guys are about a thousand times better than anything played on popular radio stations today

  • Awesome song..None of this is Autotuned...Dude has serious pipes. I know this is video but check them out live.

  • @george8404 lol they didnt have autotune in the 80's...

  • @cbpenguin Once upon a time it took real talent to sound like this...now..a sound engineer pushes a button..there are mic's plugged to a sound system that lets autotune work in live performances..It's all about the money, not the talent. If you can't sing live..you can't sing at all..get a real job.

  • @george8404 thats totally true, before it was invented you couldnt fake talent like you can today. music was just better before it was around

  • @TheToastmlt

    I'm 18 and I have a turn table with about 75,records I got myself

  • Who cares if it's corporate rock..... It sounds good and makes us feel good when we listen to it. To each their own. Grow up people!!!

  • Gotta love .38 special..makes it even better Chaunce is a close family friend!

  • I just found this band today. I just turned 14 a couple weeks ago. THIS MUSIC IS FUCKING AMAZING

  • did she fart smoke or something?

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. Will never get old.

  • Shari Shattuck she is as Beautiful as ever !!!

  • I first saw them on MTV back in the day. This song still does it for me <3

  • Got this album...you know..vinyl? Records, Turntables? Oh...too young to know..ask your parents...wait a minute...they are too young too???!! Man! I must be old! Not old enough to not appreciate this sound...;hope you do too!

  • GREAT SOUND AND GREAT VIDEO.

  • kool old tune...!!!!

  • The best thing about this is, the drummer wearing to be what looks like a game worn Braves jersey. The music is killer, I just wish the lame acting was edited out.

  • @Fruth37 The lame acting is better than this lame corporate rock song.

  • Everything I need to know about life I learned from a 38 Special video.

  • @laperez80 You must still live with your parents then.

  • What a great band

  • Whatevery happened to Steve Brookins?

  • @texs2007 Err...whatever...not whatevery.

  • i like this song..very nice

  • Saw in concert...SFA campus 1982...w/ Eddie Money...Awesome !!!

  • @Prickndawall Can you believe its 30 yrs. LOL I saw them in 85 at the Philadelphia Spectrum. They were the opening act for Bon Jovi on their Slippery When Wet tour. Caught Up In You was my Favorite song back then and still one of them today.I was 22yrs old. Where the Hell did the TIME GO LOL

  • Who is the girl? I heard she is head of some cosmetic company.

  • @philiparomeo Shari Shattuck, she's in a movie called On Deadly Ground with Steven Seagal. I know that because I'm watching On Deadly Ground right now and had to find out who she was on wikipedia.

  • I didn't know that the "old school" Ronald Mc Donald pays guitar.

  • @jpschiro67

That's 80's funk baby...ain't no gangsta shit here. At least he aint playing guitar with one hand and holding his pants up with the other.

  • Please this is classic

  • The dislikers are kanyea west fans.

  • 31 peeps got caught up in hitting the dislike button.

  • Perfect summertime song...... now why's it still 20 degrees outside? :-(

  • @TheGollyLlama Not in Florida ! :)

  • .38 Special: the only band awesome enough to require TWO drummers

  • @NathanWambolt: I'm sorry to mention this, but the Grateful Dead, King Crimson, the J.B.'s, the Allman Brothers Band, the Mothers of Invention (ZAPPA~!, my #1 favorite), the Charlie Daniels Band, the Doobie Brothers and Yes all had two drummers in the band at certain points in their respective careers.

  • In 1 year we will launch in Nashville. An 80's cover band dedicated to all the greats music of our era. Great vocals, guitars and fun. If you are interested watch for our page, "Rewinders".

  • The lead singer looks like Bo Bice.

  • Fuck Vevo.

  • Better yet, to be 24! Old enough to get in the "clubs" to hear all this GREAT MUSIC!!!!

  • To be a teen in 1982!

  • @HerLabyrinth I was ! The music was the only great thing about it !

  • Back in 1982, I misheard the line at 1:10 as "I fell in love with a gay..."

  • @TnseWlms that is so funny, I always thought that Elton John sang she's got electric boobs when he was really singing she's got electric moves in Benny and the Jets.

  • @GoodGamer115 LOL!

  • Is that stevie ray vaughn?

  • im singing this to my girlfriend. i hope genny never leaves me<3

  • 30 dislikes? that will likely increase after I point out its absurdity, as some loser will decide to add another dislike to make me look silly.

  • the most UNDERRATED rock 'n roll song of all time!...melody, breaks, bridge ,chorus ,lyrics,,,, hell even the name of the band is great,,,,great vocalist ,and musicians,,,,so yeah i like it,

  • THIS WAS ON WHIP IT!!!!!!

  • Ahhhh good song hey it was the times.....that was how it was :)

  • Dude is playing "Gorf"

  • What's that thing the woman is dangling in front of the man? What is it's significance?

  • @SteelTheStoic a room key??

  • @thewhit210 Is that what room keys looked like in the 80s? Wowzers. I'll take your word for it, though.

  • Get pissed if you want to.We are losing our country.

  • It seems that 29 people don't have the "caliber" for this kind of "ammo"...

  • @butthefollowing *removes sunglasses* YEEEEAAAAH

  • @butthefollowing It seems you're another moron who likes the corporate rock of the early 80s, you thumb-up whore.

  • @ezratn lol... 1.1+ million "morons" can't be wrong... lol

  • @butthefollowing make it 1.2 million just to be safe. rounding up never hurt anybody.

  • @butthefollowing Classic Metaphor Im still laughing

  • @cessna65423 Only for Classic People to understand

  • how did we even get on this discussion, this is about a good song.

  • I came to listen to the music, not discuss whats socially acceptable. There are specifically designated websites to blog and voice your opinion on. :) #Back to jammin out!

  • who cares!

  • I was at the greyhound station standing in line. Heard a black man talking to another african american using the word "nigger"..."nigger this"..."Nigger that.." Even calling a white man in the group "nigger". So here is my question 1) Is this a socially acceptable word to use, especially in public ? 2) What happen if I called another black man a nigger (I am not black).? Is this acceptable or only a "black to black" agreement ?

  • @TheBiongnoila COON....

  • Makes me think of my dad and funny thing is, there's a guy in the video that looks like him lol. RIP Daddy 9/28/1961-12/23/2004

  • 29 are for "gun control."

  • 29 people are deaf

  • Man, I wish women still wore pants like that. Love it!

  • Man... this song energizes me !

  • I don't know where 38 special is from but its' got to be south jersey

  • @mcg2337 - They're from Jacksonville, FL.

  • Did Carlissi get his outfit from Ronald McDonald?

  • @iwannarock58 " WOW" your what 12 ?

  • Holy shit that black guy in the opening is ripped

  • One of the most under rated Southern Rock bands ever.

  • @mindmelda .38 Special was far from underrated. They are by far one of the most popular.

  • @mindmelda were the Outlaws!!

  • Back when people could actually sing live

  • quintessential 80's! love it!

  • 3:46 AAAAAND he SCORES LMAO!

  • I just bought one of there albums and while looking for more I noticed the other albums had most of the same songs. How many albums and songs do they have or make? .

  • @MrScrappydue Their main years were on the A & M label 1977 TO 1986, WIKI has the list, You must be looking at various greatest hits put togethers which can be misleading ..

  • @CrashMarket Exactly. There's 18 great songs,I like them all. I had Rhapsady for awhile and only saw a few albums and wondered if they made more than 3 albums?. I've been at Walmart,Target, and recently f.y.e. and could not find more than 2 albums. I emagine people are buying them out but I would like to know is how many songs did they actualy make? and or albums. Thanks

  • @MrScrappydue They did not have many as far as the real line up of 77 - 86 goes but these are the titles in the order of release the 1st 38,,,Special Delivery,,,,Rockin into the nite,,Wild Eyed Southern Boys,,,Special Forces,,,Tour De Force, and Strength in Numbers...All of those are the original releases.. From 88 to 97 they had about 3 more releases.'.Bone against Steel' is my fav of that era.Take your pick of the 77 -86 era.Chain stores do not carry much of the originals

  • @CrashMarket No doubt they are realy good along with Neil Young,John Fogerty & Bob Dylan but these three are single musicians I think. Thanks for your help.

  • I first heard it from the movie, The goods: Live hard, sell hard :) love the movie, love this song!
