I stayed at a Days Inn in Johnson City,TN..It was WAY worse than this one! I asked for a non smoking room and I got what they SAID was non smoking..yet everything in the room smelled like an ashtray..It was disgusting! The blankets and sheets smelled like sweat and smoke..I had to throw them on the floor and sleep without them! I would have been more comfy in the Uhaul parked outside! Tub had hair in it..so no bath after driving 37 hours! They refused to change rooms or refund my money!
I wonder why they couldn't give you a new room. Was it booked up? I don't blame you for wanting a new room. That blood on the mattress was disgusting. I wouldn't sleep on it either. That blood stain could be from numerous things. They could've put alot of different over the stain to say its well covered up and I still wouldn't have slept on that mattress. Maybe by now they've gotten rid of that mattress.
I really don't see the problem. Was the blood not dry? If it was dry then you have no fears of catching anything. And wasn't it covered by a mattress pad and sheets? Did you just go searching for issues to get a free room? Do you think hotels can just throw out every mattress that gets a stain on it? Do you know how much they'd be throwing out everyday? All the furniture, mattresses, carpets, etc. they'd have to get rid of? Just because of a stain that cant hurt you at all?
I am betting the individual motel did not have the common sense to refund the money. Otherwise they would not have posted the video. After the last time I visited a Days Inn, I just called their 1-800 complaint line and shared my experiences with the operator. I got a refund within three days, and stay one night free coupon. I never used the coupon, as it would require making a reservation at another Days Inn. (And I don't need the agrivation of dealing with Days Inn again.)
It is wise to always inspect mattresses for blood, sperm, vomit and bed bugs.

@RBell86403: I was thinking the same and not to mention a lawyer so that they can give her money back.

I can understand not throwing out a mattress with a small stain but that was a HUGE, disgusting stain.

Buyer beware. Look at what you buy before parting with your money. Your young, you'll learn. Did you get your money back?
