Sometimes i think to myself, Pokemon nowadays seem to be just simply modelled after existing animals.

Then i look back at the old days and see,

Charmander, Magikarp, Slowpoke, Ratatta, Ratticate, Squirte.

They aren't really that special too are they? I think its just due to nostalgia reasons most people preffer them over these.

Unova would of been better if the following never became pokemon: gear evo, stunfisk, the whole monkey trio, munna and musharna (drowzee clone) Pignite and Emboar could of used a better design, female unfezant and jellicent weren't needed, pre evo of gigalith, pre evo of Reuniclus, ice cream evo, pre evo of chandelier, yamask, throh and sawk, cryogonal, woobat, and Stoutland most of these could of used better detail or should had let sugimori design them with his original style

So i dont mind as much anymore. and i have to admit, one of the best pokemon game out. i got the a similar feeling when gold/silver came out, with Black/white. (as in excitement when playing the game). Black/White actually has a storyline, and training got so much easier thanks to the audino battles. So try it out people! :D

As for the old pokemon, yes alot of these pokemon do seem similar to old pokemon, but the're based on different animals. Example: Look at the pokemon called Galvantula. Its based on a spider right? But, we already have a spider pokemon, Ariados. You might think Galv is a ripoff, but its based on a DIFFERENT spider, a tarantula.(next comment)

You might call the former a ripoff of the later, but the fact is that its based on a DIFFERENT animal from Rapidash. Pokemon is loosley based on the real world, so if in real life there are different animals of the same species(Ex. A bull and a buffolo) why cant pokemon do that?

Now, Dragonite, I don't agree cus Dratini is snakelike and Axew isn't, then Dragonite's family is really kind hearted looking, and Haxorus' look mean and intimidating. So big difference

@DynamiteChannelist When you think about it, Reuniclus and Gothitelle are similar to Alakazam and Gardevoir because they are the Psychic type families of their Generation. Gigalith is similar to Golem due to it being a rock-type that needs to be traded to reach its final form, not to mention them having similar movesets. And Haxorus = Dragonite, they are both OU dragons of their generations.
