great video thanks, but i have a question. when you connect the V5 (im assuming thats its the same for the v7 you have) to a tv with the hdmi output, does it show whats on screen (eg, a web browser etc.. running on ubuntu or android) or does the hdmi specifically output movies played in vlc etc.. over the hdmi
i would consider buying the device if it can easily show the screen as i could use it for presenting at conferences where i need to be able to browse the web etc.. and more

@LordZope Are you stupid? That IS win7 running on my PC. The video is running on PC and on SmartQ at the same time to show that SmartQ can play video as smooth, as PC does. It's NOT connected via hdmi cable!
Whell, if it is so, I belieave it can play a Divx/Xvid video with SD quality quite well. Doesn't it? A 720x480 (or less), encoded with 1000kbps (vbr, max = 8000kbps)... whell, most dvd players with divx capability play this kind of video. But would the SmartQ do it well? What do you think?
KenNy´s right...I haven´t noticed there any HDMI cable connecting the device and TV, suggesting that the author simultaneously played the video from a DVD Player/ Recorder and on the V7...
As you point out, this certainly seems to be playing from another source than the SmartQ V7 device. There is a small delay in what's shown on the big screen, compared to the small SmartQ V7 screen. This could be caused by 'lag'. However, this would far more likely cause the big screen to lag behind. In this video it's clear the big screen is ahead of the player, which suggests it's source is a different device.
Also note the click sound, just before the big screen starts playing. Well spotted!
Very impressive and with a stream of more than 8 megabit too. I have the SmartQ5 and am very happy with it, but I'm thinking of getting one of these after seeing how well it performs.
wtf at 1:40! it is russian windows 7 with media player classic on it!!!!

@ 1:41 you can see the Windows 7 OS on the big screen.
I'd like to think this could run Win7 but I very much doubt it :p

Smartdevices SmartQ V7 is not equal to Smartdevices V7.
The smartQ version not have HDMI out, and has only 128Mb ddr1 ram.
kepszlok 1 year ago
You speak about SmartQ7, not about SmartQ V7. Both are developed by SmartDevices.
ValdikSS2 1 year ago
Yes, just write a wrong word. So, SmartQ7 not equal to V7.
But The V7 is not smartQ-V7. Even the manufaturer's website call it wrong in their website's title bar.

No HDMI cable connected !! Just a video sync. LAME!!!
DoityDeEmunz 2 years ago
Why should I connect it via HDMI? The video on the monitor shows bitrate only.
ValdikSS2 2 years ago
@ValdikSS2
You should connect it via HDMI because that's the only way you can connect the V7 to an external TV/Monitor.
The lack of a visible HDMI cable plugged into the V7 makes people think that this video is fake.
CPS2 1 year ago
Why should I connect it to an a monitor? It plays that a PC plays, I did something like compare.
