The brain actually uses different parts for singing and speech, most singing is done in vowels, whereas the differences in accents are most often formed in consonants. Well since she drops her "r"s in words such as "more" when she sings, you've proven my point. The Irish are notorious for having a Rhotic dialect of English, whereas the cadence and non-Rhoticity of her singing is more typical of Southern American and African-American dialect. Compare her to Paul Brady and you can see the difference. She puts on an accent when she sings like other Irish and Brits who sing Pop and R&B. When did I say that this genre belongs to Americans? What I'm saying is that she changes her accent when she sings, nobody talks like that in Ireland. Look up a video of her speaking and compare it to this video and you can hear the difference in cadence.
