  • Man this is great lesson for a young bean to the bop. godbless you mr. JazzVideoGuy.

that must be one far out grandpa, to stand behind that 'jungle music'...

  • Fantastic! What a band. Can you imagine the general TV audience taking this in at the time? We have 50 million TV stations now and nothing like this can be found anywhere.

  • this is one of the best if not THE best vid you have uploaded yet. Man... downloading it now. This deserves to be copied and spread as much as possible.

  • Wow!

  • 28 minutes of excellence.

  • R.I.P Billy Thanks for posting! I love this stuff great show!

  • The piano has busted keys, no top and Billy is sitting in a chair. That's funny. Every single one of these solos burns front to back. Geezz Cannonball is a scary player about this time! I played alto in a Monday night rehearsal band about '73 and Mundell Lowe was a featured guest soloist at a concert. We played a blues chart where he and i got to trade choruses and fours. After, Mundell came up to me and said i sounded good and he had fun. That meant so much to me as a young cat. Still playing'.

  • Ahhhh now this...........this is a slice of pure heaven! Brett, you're an absolute diamond for posting stuff like this!

  • Pure gold Brett. Thank you for bring this to us.

  • Mundell Lowe still with us, as of June, 2011.

  • Thanks, Bret - GREAT stuff!

  • This is a treasure !

  • A sports writer and Tommy Dorsey didn't care for bop. SHOCKING.

  • @milnak: I also think T. D. cared more about money than anything else in the 40s.

  • for 28 plus every thing stopped in my

    little humble abode

i'm glad no one called because

i probably would not have answered

    bop education at it's finest

    thanks mr. primack

    peace,rich
