Gorgeous guitar!! I have two mexi strats as well and I love em! One's a fat strat with a floyd rose tremolo and the other is a red strat with singles...
trouble with strats, ya can never stop fuckin with the pik up switch..always thinking one selection might sound miles better than the other..its all bollox..!
No offense, but that's just plain NOT true:D "Out of phase" is a phrase referring to physical properties of some sound waves. It actually has very little to do w/ one guitar or the other - or one pickup vs. another, for that matter.
Sorry for my innorance but what is meant by a V neck? Will some one please shine some light. Also i have heard of a C shape neck. I wondered if the C shape was the slightly curved one an the v neck was flat but thats just guessing...????????????????????
Just bought two Mexican classic Strats, one fifty's in Fiesta red, the other is a sixty's in Lake Placid blue, i did have an American standard Strat in Olympic White with a maple neck but sold it some years ago and regretted it ever since, i was so upset that i took the day off work!
Both are fine Guitars, to buy an American version of these Guitars would be very expensive and i would only do so if my skill level were to increase significantly, i have also bought a Candy Apple Red 60's strat which i prefer to Lake Placid Blue.
My friend traded me a 2001 Special Edition Fender Strat (MIM) for my $250 Washburn WI14. He regrets it... Ha. Anyway, I'm not sure why it's special... But I've swapped out the pups for Lace Sensors, changed the white pickguard to black, put Sperzel tuners on, and a little more. Anyway, in total, I spent about $450 for the Strat in total, (Guitar + upgrades) which was the retail price at the time for a new Strat. MIMs are great for hot rodding!
7.25 is better for chords ( never tired ), it is OK for lead and you can get a low action but it had to be fixed by a guitar tech.
The only problem is when you bend over one and half tone : you loose the sound. So over one and half you' ll have to fix up the action a little bit upper.Depends of your playing ...
Nice guitar,oh have you seen the new limited edition "Fiesta Red" Strats out w/ the painted headstock? Its like salmon pink.Oh,just a mere suggestion, use just a hint of overdrive if you have it,itd give it a nice thick crunchy sound.
this is crazy i just bought some fender custom shop 69 pickups and was looking for a guitar to chuck them in, about to buy this exact guitar then found this video sounds sweet i think i will now. Was it a loaded pickguard you bought for it and do they sound alot better than the stock pickups?
nice playing dude. but you should mess around some more with your deluxe reverb. i have the exact same one, 65' RI, and i get alot more vintage "Fender" twang out of it with my 94' american strat. if you'd like to try and see what i mean, my settings are vibrato channel 1, treble on 6.5 an bass on 3.5 with the volume from 3 to 6
good choice

Ooh, I like the out of phase sounds you're getting here! Little out of tune, but that happens to all of us:P:) Kudos!

it's not out of phase.. its the sound of a strat.
you only get out of phase sounds from a les paul :)

How do you like the curvy 7.25" radius neck?
Any problems with getting the action low or fretting out on big bends?
