  • He is no great singer. But he really was not that bad at all.

  • I'm sorry, but how long does he hold those consonants for? It sounds... well, to me it sounds ridiculous, but you're entitled to your own opinions

  • I wish they would have him back as Judge

  • Comment removed

  • Are you kidding me. This is garbage!!!!!!!!

  • @chriscalaitges Yeah I know, you're much better, right? JELOUS BITCH

  • I don't think he would be that bad, if he didn't do so much injustice to his vowel sounds. But the way he sustains his consonants and seems incapable of rounding out his vowels is pretty unacceptable.

  • if i may comment on his singing technique, i think he closes the 1st vowel too early in some places like @0:32, the 'n' from the word "demons" comes too early, i think he could ve made the vowel 'o' last a bit longer, or @0:53 the 'n' from the word "moment" also comes too early. in singing, sustained vowels are highly used whereas consonants are always sung in the last beat. this is juz a humble comment from sbd whos majoring in singing at the univ:)

  • @whetygorlie3 you're right, thats because he isn't a trained singer. I didnt think he would be this good, but my friend does it better (the korean version) honestly its good but i feel like i could do better too

  • good old fashioned lipsync

  • @TheAndrey if u believe this is lipsync u totally failed... ;D

  • wow....Hoff and Shatner should do a duet....cause they both suck! lol

  • @HeartlessEnigma Like you would do better.

  • I assume he also sings in his car when he drives, now I know why KITT is early retired

  • As someone who has played Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde in two different productions of Jekyll & Hyde I can honestly say this is THE WORST INTERPRETATION OF THIS SONG I HAVE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF SITTING THROUGH! DAVID HASSELHOFF, YOU ARE DREADFULL!!!! SMALL ANIMALS BEING DROWNED IN BURLAP SACKS ARE MORE MUSICALLY INCLINED THAN YOU!!! THIS WAS NOT A PERFORMANCE, THIS WAS AN ABORTION!!!!!

  • @sunnyboycj you know what he sold the sizzle right off that steak though.

  • maybe they're jst jealous of hoff.lol

  • Like to see them get up there - I like his version on the web from the play

  • You know, he is bad, but worst of all are the judges. Pleaeaease!! Have balls, be honest and tell him this is just not good... Do it gently if you have to, you do it with better participant all the time...

  • I really wanted the three red X's to illuminate!!!!!!!

  • This is a pretty difficult song to sing. It sounds easy, but try it even the best singers will find it hard to perform maybe because it is too emotional and it was originally from a musical.

  • I turned the volume down and just watched. Watching is enough. Listening + watching would overwhelm me.

  • He was better when he was actually playing Jekyll onstage.. not that that was amazing, mind you, but it was better than this.

  • Sebastian Bach would crush that performance haha

  • Not that I don't love David Hasselhoff, 'cause I really do, but he did seem like he was attempting to eat all our souls at 3:26 to sustain that final note.

  • 163 people listen to songs at the wrong moment lol

  • Oh no. Oh no. No no no.

  • Good, but lacks the intensity that this song requires. It's like making a ballad of Ain't no Mountain High Enough. It's now a ballad, it's desperation.

You're a very good singer, but the approach lacks the meaning of the song.

  • AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

  • Is it just me or did he look like he crapped his pants throughout half of that, um... Performance?

  • This isn't the moment Mr Hasselhoff. It sounds better if you sing in tune pal.

Unless he'd had one or two before he went on. There are far better versions.

  • No no no NO

  • truly the worst jekyll ever... EVER!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @gtjordan781 almost he said this day or never ill sit forever with the gods this is from the musical jekyll and hyde jekyll belive in one God he belived in sience and he says this project is his moment

  • How did Piers break 3 ribs then? Writing a newspaper?

  • this is the exact reason why he isn't on the show anymore.

  • Really 150 dislikes. He's done worse.

  • He's not that good bu the kwy factor is he sells it he has fucking gusto ans when performing live that is what a crowd wants I heard it and was like wow the hoff can't sing but his delivery is impeccable

  • Sharon are you self medicating again?

    youtube.com/watch?v=ad2PVVKMc_w

    just saying

  • youtube.com/watch?v=ad2PVVKMc_w

    just saying

  • Is there gonna be a spin-off called "The Hoff's Got NO Talent"?

  • Is there one note in tune? I think not!

  • He gives comments on people that are mush better singers than he is

  • Way to fun, but I guess there is no one who sings this song better than René Froger! But don't forget all the other great songs Froger ever song!

  • he did a good job, but look at keith jack's version in the right column...that kids damn good lol

  • Y do u people Hate this guy he's actually good

  • If this was some wife's husband singing at their wedding ceremony making her and everybody else weep into their frocks I'd say 'How sweet!' Since this is a national TV show I'll have to say 'I hope someone will come out any minute and reveal this having been just a joke.' I'm waiting...someone...anyone...

  • This is great. I loved him in Jekyll & Hyde. How could I have missed this episode?

  • @NicxCoay I love him too and I love this musical!!!

  • His Broadway one was better but he's not horrendous. There are much worse out there.

  • Honestly the worst performance of anything I have seen or heard ever in my life.

  • possibly the worst singer..ever. true story

  • @aielj he is horrible. but my dad is worse belive it or not.

  • horrific

  • why didnt he sound like this on broadway?

  • This was so painful to listen to haha

  • 6 minutes of my life I will never get back.Anyone who thinks this man can sing...or perform on stage has no musical ear at all. This was an absolute disgusting performance in every way.Does the Hoff really believe he can sing?????..If so he is a poor disillusioned man....If not then he has balls the size of dump trucks to go out there and crusify himself to this extent.

  • I cant believe someone would let him butcher this song live on tv, even his parents were like "WTF was that?!?!?!"

  • Say what you will about David, but this is a really difficult song to sing. I've heard many people sing this song, and he did fine.

  • whoever liked this video truely is not educated enough in musical theater

  • That was actually a lot better than I thought it would be. Okay, its filled with technical problems and he struggles at the end, but my expectations were really low.

  • THIS SHOULD BE REPORTED UNDER THE TRADE DESCRIPTIONS ACT.WHO TOLD HIM HE COULD SING.AND HES GOT THE CHEEK TO BE ON A TALENT SHOW .....

  • TERRIBLE THE GOBSHITES RUINED A GREAT SONG . GET BACK TO NIGHT RIDER YOU DICKHEAD.AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • GUYS WTF!!! why the good comments? He sucks. No where near the level of cuccioli, evan, gerold, etc, etc, ETC!!! Please, a fetus could sing this better.

Actually, bear in mind that he is in his late 50's here, he did give it a ......"TRY"

  • @MrMusicman25 thank you! also, read my comment a few above^^ he sucks truely!

  • Just listened to Andy Warlow and his magnificent rendition of this song and now this God Awful attempt by David Hasselhoff that was painful to endure. It's like comparing a Rembrandt painting to a paint by numbers picture done by a blind man. He should be more embarrassed by this than his drunken ,hamburger eating video.

  • David Hasselhoff is a joke by himself. It's nearly impossible to take him seriously when you compare him to Anthony Warlow, Robert Cuccioli, or even Rob Gerold.

  • Why is everyone dissing the hoff ??? He is good!

  • @markhunter1993 He's as good as your taste in music.

  • @markhunter1993 Jealousy and emptiness in their own lives. Hoff is pure love!

  • @markhunter1993 I thought he was awesome in the musical.

  • that ending notes was awesome!

  • No size of orchestra/background music could quite cover the crap that was that performance, unfortunately.

    I feel physically sick!!

  • omg....please stop singing

  • Absolutely horrible...he is sliding into nearly all of the held notes.....the arrangement is too high....he is straining his voice.....the greatest MOMINT of them all.....the word is MOMENT....really...says the word right then entire song til the very last time.......I expected much better from David....cuz he is a good performer.....very professional this time....NOT

  • this song seems a little too high for him, he strains on the top note.

  • this song seems a little too high for him, he strains on the top not.

  • Does he even know the story that goes with this song? Has he SEEN Jekyll and Hide? You'd never guess he was in it. He sang it like a lazy cabaret singer. Not a bad voice, but very inappropriate.

  • @monkeyman9342 He's played Dr Jekyll on broadway......

  • @Bullock1991 I know he did. That's why I said "You'd never guess he was in it". I watched other videos of him doing this song actually in the show, and they were very well performed. For this performance, I think he was just lacking the true feeling of the song. It was too showy.

  • @monkeyman9342 Ahhh I do apologise I didn't read that properly. :) I agree with you though, he's not the worse but this performance is far too showy.

  • @monkeyman9342 He sang it completely different in the play I saw him at in Las Vegas. America's Got Talent has a musical director who arranges all the music, I'd suggest the problem starts there and the fact that DH wasn't as comfortable with this arrangement.

  • WOW!! I didn't know he could sing!! I REALLY ENJOY his voice!!!!! (POSITIVE SONG!!!)

  • @FountainsGuestHouse

YOUR A COMPLETE NUT CASE IF YOU THINK HE CAN SING EVEN REMOTELY.

  • Funny how he's on America's Got Talent only...his version of the song is the least favorite of mine. Actually, I truly detest his version.

  • If he sang this during Knight Rider, I can just here it now. Kitt would have said, Michael, what is that awful noise, then Michael would say, it's me and , I'm going to sing everytime I get in the car. At which point Kitt would locked him in the car, locked the windows, and funneled the carbon monoxide right into the car. (sorry had to fix a typo)

  • If he sang this during Knight Rider, I can just here it now. Kitt would have said, Michael, what is that awful noise, then Michael would say, it's mean , I'm going to sing everytime I get in the car. At which point Kitt would locked him in the car, locked the windows, and funneled the carbon monoxide right into the car.

  • This is an absolute nightmare. You have completely lost sight of what talent and singing actually is if you find anything appealing about it. Every single note he attempts to sustain goes completely flat. Oh it's quite true he is singing live. Nothing from a studio could be that dreadful. Though physically he does put his all into it. That's what you call" All smoke but no roast"

  • ...the looove boat.... soon will be making another round...

  • lmaooo!!! lame rofl!!

  • Whooo, I never thought he sings well!!!!! He fabulously interpret the message of the song with his heart and soul on it!!!!!

  • How does he do that at the end? For everybody out there that thinks he lipsyncs, listen to this song and then you will know that he isn't. It is greatly done

  • hyde took over during one of his note aha

  • What I do like about his performance is that you can tell he's putting all his heart and soul into that song. He believes in the message and is trying to get it across to the nation - believing in yourself and what you can do.

The singing, however... could definitely use some work. Especially in the last verse/chorus... when he slid into the last note, he didn't hit it right at all and ended up really flat. Ew. Also, he got some words wrong "I sit FOREVER" not "I;ll sit TOGETHER"!!!

  • 2:07... LOL.

  • This is just terrible!

  • He's out of tune....

  • AHH David...musical theater is not for you. Stick with " Night Rider" and "Bay Watch"...when people actually liked you...you are soo flat its sickening, so just stop.

  • This has to be the funniest thing that's ever happened.

  • It's like Sharon is humouring a dumb child

  • Oh wow..... I would almost be able to take it if he had a trained vibrato.. and if he wasn't completely flat on the last note.

  • Mr. the one and only DAVID HASSELHOFF!!! very very good!

  • I few months ago, I tried to watch this and my pc blocked it. Now I know why. I'm a freaking soprano and I can sing this better!

  • I few months ago, I tried to watch this and my pc blocked it. Now I know why.

  • Was this a comedy? In his defense he is an actor not a singer. And my only advise to him would be don't quit your day job.

  • Pretty good ! He is a big star \^・^/

  • omfg .... him bad !!

  • OMG I'd rather listen to a chainsaw cutting up a metal tank.

  • Oh my gosh, he sings so good!

  • who strangled my labrador??!!! Oh Fuck that was horrible!!!

  • Wow, i didn't think he could do anything as embarrassing as the sandwich incident... but this definitely takes the cake. He absolutely butchered this wonderful song. He didn't even get all of the words right.

  • awsome

  • A W F U L

  • lol @ the contradicting highest rated comments. anyway, not bad

  • HORRENDOUS! The musical version of him eating a sandwich off the floor while drunk.

  • @ajb1776

LMAO I agree.... That was beyond horrid.

  • OMG, that is awful, I only listened to the first 90 seconds, I couldn't bear to listen or watch anymore !!

  • what an overacted performance coupled with appalling singing....... I only listened to the first 90 seconds, I couldn't bear to listen or watch anymore !!

  • PEOPLE, HES AMAZING SO STOP INSULTING HIM. remember, he isnt exactly young... and hes amazing!!! i bet 99.9999999999% of you cant sing like 1 billionth as well

  • @las171717 ISN'T EXACTLY YOUNG...he's in his 50s...Engelbert is almost 80, and can still sing this clown under the table!

  • I honestly like the Hoff but... this was NOT his moment! Too many pitch and breathing problems, losing control of his voice...not good!

  • @Elvisfan2k yeah, I thought he was better in the musical than on stage here

  • "This...is a mess." :-P

  • he is shite

  • I honestly never knew that the David did anything other than say "Don't Hassle the Hoff".

  • what a load of shite

  • Great Musical and He's Crap. just doesn't add up!

  • well, he isn't the great singer I'll say that, hell, he even says that, but he's fun to watch and he knows it

  • Love the Hoff! Well done David!

  • he adds alot of dipthongs which i wouldn't like in a performance but his acting compensates this ... sort of

  • The Hoff kinda ruined it here but when he was in the show as Jekyll he was awesome in it. Considering he was my first viewing of the show.

  • the one reason i didn't enjoy this performance was because i knew who was going to win since the audition

  • While I was watching this, all I could see was Robert Cuccioli storming onto the stage, swatting the mic away from him, slapping him in the face, and showing him how it's done!

  • Flat... Man, this is kind of bad.

  • people who like this watch Robert Cuccioli's better by 100

  • I think he sounds fine, and although people may think he didn't sing that well for this, he was amazing in the actual musical, in my opinion. For all the haters, you should go and sing in front of all those people, along with the millions watching on TV and then see how you like it when people say things like 'my ears are bleeding' If you don't like it, don't bloody listen! Stop spoiling things for those who do want to listen without having to read your crappy comments!

  • @SpiritedAngel ......I do sing for a living in front of people. If I sounded like that I'd walk of stage and take lessons for a few more years.

  • @SpiritedAngel I have the dvd, he was much better in the broadway version

  • This is like a cruel joke to the world. Truly awful. I mean, just horrific. A disaster. Overacting, overbearing vibrato, it's like watching cats being murdered. I'm usually one to allow people to have their own opinions--but if you think this is good--you got something wrong.

  • the hoff's career is the biggest fluke ever

  • David, you're a GREAT singer. You were singing the song with feelings and emotion! Thumbs up!

  • I thought he sang just fine! Didn't sound off key, held notes, what the hell more is necessary? Could it be that he's a talented, good looking guy and some folks can't deal with that.

  • This is NOT the moment, Hoff. Your moment was decades ago, when you weren't singing. It's times like these I wish that little guy catching ppl by the neck and yanking them off stage with the cane existed.

  • I like to listen to all the people saying how much he sucks. Get on stage, and sing, with your voice at its highest pitch, all alone, Without auto-tune. Lets compare you to this video.

  • thumbs up for the video description! Hilarious!

  • shocking! utterly SHOCKING!!!

  • what a load of crap this man judges talent get him off now vile vile vile vile vile.

  • @silviogigante He doesn't need to get off stage he needs a cheeseburger. Lol, Rob Evans is much better.

  • this really just sounds painful... his vibrato makes me want to hurl and his high notes might as well not even be in the song... I dont know how they let this on TV ..

Check out CB south Jekyll and hyde. They do a much better version of this song, and the entire show Jekyll and Hyde, where thisis from

  • I'm just gonna go sit in a corner and cry now... and not out of joy.

  • Wow...that was one of the worst performances I've every heard. It literally made me sick to my stomach. I used to like David but after ruining that song, I just can't...

  • The ending of that song... my GOD that is some horrible shit.

  • Sebastian Bach did this a million times better...scratch that, more than that.

  • D: HE DID THIS SONG?! O_O He was my first viewing of Jekyll/Hyde.

  • At exactly 9:42pm at the close of Shabbot and the beginning of a new week in San Francisco, California on July 17, 2010 Meesh officially is Isaiah 62- she actually Isaiah 66 too. Some rules she must follow- its a G4 with fringe benefits- with boy to harlot marrying in New York on May 11, 2011 and girl to wine marrying on Nov. 11, 2010 @ the Wyn Hotel in Las Vegas- now I bless and charge her with the sexual house. Meesh- I believe in miracles- YOU SEXY THING

  • 3:57 I'm sorry...he dragged his parents to this crap?! And that my friends looks like a golf clap on their part. Or mercy clap. Maybe Dave shared some booze before getting on stage; at least that would make this performance bearable. lol.

  • Love it that Springer refers to Hasselhoff as a "Great guy....a good friend," not so much a great one though! And with regards to his singing; I feel the words ha, ha, are most appropriate.

  • OMG - sounds like a Sunday afternoon pub singer. Appalling! The video of him drunk with a burger was 100% better!!!!

    Karaoke, anyone????

  • Uhm, is he drunk onstage? His overacting gives off that impression?

  • WOW That was a moment that should have never happened. His vocals were very unstable.

  • I love his charisma and I love that he's the only person to play to sing that ab-lib on "Damn all the odds"

  • My god that's just terrible

  • <3 Piers!

  • Wow. He destroyed the song. How could the judges love this???

  • OMG Daaaaaaaaaaavvvvvvvvviidddddddddddddddd <3 LOVE IT :D:D:D:D::D

  • he's totally crap and sings it flat places

  • a bit false haha i think rob evan is way better technically then david hasselhof i haope that this was a one time performance. its better for him and for the number

  • Are the audience instructed to clap louder the more he sings out of tune and to stand up if it becomes absolutely crap?

I challenge you to find a better live performance than the one titled

Anthony Warlow singing "This Is The Moment" on TV

and also check out "Hydrofoil - The Musical"

  • This is way off from the original...

  • OMG!!!!!!!!he really killed the song. i sang the song for my concert & left me in tears but i'm crying now cos this fabulous song has been murdered brutally by Hasselhorff. and yes, he's flat...........

  • Ugly

  • awful!!!!!!!!!! how could they allow such a thing to occur????

  • I agree! He has butchered it beyond words!

  • He's really flat...

  • I'm an optimist by nature and never put others down if I can't do better but I have to draw the line somewhere and I don't think this is the song he should have sung. After you here Andy Reiss there is no one else I really want to here but there are very good covers by Anthony Warlow, Rene Froger, Michael Ball, Keith Jack, Anthony Callea, and another fav Sam Harris.

  • inte OK!

  • inte OK!

  • Wow... I this shit makes his DVD performance of this seem GOOD.
