So... if a tank with light buff tanksFjola Lightbane does he/she have to change to dark buff when she uses light Vortex or can they just keep tanking? O.o
No if you are DPS you have to choose the opposite colour, so when u fight lightbane, you need to have the dark essence. If you look closely, you will see our mage standing to the right of me with the dark essence(I forgot to move the bag, but she pops up now and then). So when you need to switch colours, click the light orb and move to darkbane until you need to switch again.
So,if I understand,you select the light or dark(dark if you fight the dark one and light if you fight the light one) than if you have light buff,hit white orb while fighting,same for dark...only thing I don't understand,it's the color change..what do you have to do exactly(I'm a mage)

Yes, the tank has to have the same buff as the boss he is fighting. So only DPS have to switch bosses.
