  • I hope they've made clear this is a Jorge Ben ripoff?

  • Copying deadmau5??? really.....BEP have been aroubd since about 1988...atban klann look it up. Deamau5 start making music about 95 or 97....officially since 3years ago. And if they do copy anyone, its a time were everyone samples everybodies music if not they colabo. Look at usher, r&b artist and is crossing over to dance like everyone, he even has a song with a spanish singer singing something way off the radar unless u r spanish. REMEBER, REAL MUSICIANS EVOLVE AND EXPLORE.

  • I wish BEP would go back to their old sound. They're a completely different genre now. Even though they were going to be dropped by their record company, they should've just been in it for the music. They traded being true to themselves for money and fame. If they would just have gone as far as Elephunk with their genre, I would stay with them. Listen to Karma, then Dirty Bit. They've gone so far to being original to copying other artists (deadmau5, I mean). I even liked Hey Mama. Too far.

  • This is the good old Jorge Ben Jor, from Brazil. Vou cantar, cantando... E vou dançar, dançando.

  • Hey GRINGOS! Take a little look at this music: " 5 Minutos" - Jorge Ben in 1974 from Brazil

  • love bep. i dont like the fact that fans dislike how a band can change thru the years and consider them "sellouts"...like thats a bad thing?? THEY "SELLOUT " STADIUMS...who cares how they change, its still good music and they keep "selling out" albums too....if you are a real fan you support whatever they out. simple as that. hating is not going to help.

  • @ync112307 You don´t really get the ture meaning of an artist selling out, right? And true fans do care if how they change ... just like if you see your good friend going in the "wrong direction" you try to guide him back on the "right way" i.e help him :D

And ofc they´re sellouts and ofc it's a bad thing because this music is not coming from the hearts and minds of these people but from an corporate elitist office ( pretty much) get the drift? :D

  • @APokeInTheEye oh i know the concept of selling out. but thruth of the matter.....EVERY ARTIST/ REAL MUSICIAN, changes their music. ALL GREAT BANDS, ARTISTS GO THRU IT. Metallica for one is not the same band, are they sellouts? Red hot chilli peppers same thing. Led Zepplin in their day were diversified in their music, yet they are still a rock and roll bad ass band. U say they (BEP) r being influenced by "corporate elitist"...look at Will I AM he is not one to be molded by corporate elitists.

  • @ync112307 C'mon, can't you see that the change they've gone thru is just the change into another mainstream dumbed-down corporate sellout group of people ...

I mean ... it's okay to change your style ... but why make your lyrics meaningless all of a sudden? Because then you can go MAINSTREAM! Isn't it obvious? Money and fame got to them (probably something better)

You think it's just a coincidence that they got so famous right after they "changed their style"? Really ... ? ;D

  • @APokeInTheEye u speak like all of their music is party music with meaningless lyrics. u do realize they have more music out there. yes they have become mainstream, but it doesnt change who they are. been to a recent concert? all muscians have mainstream hits. look at eminem. hardcore to the soul, yet he has plenty of popular mainstream hits. Is he a sell out? far from it. so why should it be different for BEP. They have been famous. Its just out in the open now. Is not like they had no fame.

  • @ync112307 Hmm... well, you're right about that ... party songs are maybe just the ones that go mainstream.

"Meet me half way" is the only meaningful song today that got mainstream after "where is the love"

And i haven't beet to any of their concerts and i haven't listened to any of their new 'not mainstream' songs so you could be right ...

So i think that they are partly sellouts and partly still good same old BEP

    Peace!

  • @APokeInTheEye i like the your argument. But not gonna change my mind. lol They are still original. WIL I AM is a great producer.

  • this bring my mind The Ubz Sims in the City.game gots some Black eyed peas Remixed By Will.i.am

  • hermoza canzion <3 me encantan + azi *:)

  • I'm afraid there is nothing we can do now... They're gone... (flatline...)

  • i think this video is great. where is fergie? isi that her "na nana'? let me knO!

    ricardo.

  • @Feldwoman fergie was incorporated later.

  • @Feldwoman As soon as Fergie showed up things went down the shitter.

  • @Feldwoman fergie wasnt in bep originally

  • oh man... that last verse. rap may yet prove itself as an art form to me....

  • bboycrosel1

Not at all, i don't think Fergie fucked them up as most say(more electronic music). But you cannot argue that the lyrics & instrumentals they made/used back then are of the same level as boom boom pow/i gotta feeling/my humps & such....They sold out hard, now only one or two of their tunes are decent. Their hip-hop albums are great though & unique. Even better was Will & Apls first group Atban Klann signed under Eazy E

  • people say there is a longer version of this song

  • wow i cant believe they use to make music like this, their a bunch of crooks. wtf they need to kick fergie back out.

  • i appreciate this music - f*** outsellers wher'd the heart go x'D

  • Their music used to stimulate your mind.

Now it just rots your brain.

  • ya they are pretty much pop now

  • hey man youd sell out too..they got dough now

  • @mb4151 Not gonna lie, they do have alot more money now after selling out and I would of done it too.

  • what's the jorge ben's song if everyone's talking about it, they just say his name...

  • @TricksterBee Jorge Ben - Cinco Minutos

  • @TricksterBee Jorge Ben - Cinco Minutos (greetings from brazil, my man!)

  • BLACK EYED PEAS IS THE BEST

  • prefer jorge's version.

  • you love black eyed peas early years, but this is a copy of a famous jorge ben's song.

  • 1998 <3 The best bep's years

  • I think this ALL the time too!!!

I loved BEP before they sold out. THIS song is the definition of BEP pre-sellout. Now they put out bullshit like My Humps. Effin ridiculous.

  • @Sojio I think this everyday. Fucking sellouts

  • i was talking to one of my freinds at shcool who claimed to be the black eyed peas biggest fan. i bet him a dollar that he hadnt heard all their albums. i made a dollar on this album! i hate those sell out fucks

  • @ORIGINALGANGST4 u can earn more....ATBAN KLAN....its their first band name then later were the Black Eyed Pods...then Peas. ATBAN KLAN music is bad ass. Bet he never heard of that side of the peas.

  • @ync112307 yeh ive got one song under that name, did they make an album on that name?

  • this song has a dope beat.

  • Stolen from the brazilian singer, Jorge Ben!

  • Before Furgie&&Before THey Sold Out,

Genius lyrics that said something like keep it on the positive

    instead of

    Stupid Dirty Bit-.-

  • I love all the albums with and without Fergie, but i think the BEP arent the back without Fergie, cuz she is one of them, and i fucking love her :) <3

  • Sell Out pieces of shit. I know the truth.....you didn't want the bitch in the crew but you would get dropped if you didn't accept!

  • mah gawd, do you all hear that bass line?!

    shit slaps.

  • they're songs were so chilled back then. what happened?

  • @JAYB1688 fergie happened.

  • @JAYB1688 i think eazy e formed them

  • this is a million times better than what they have now...but that's not saying much. they weren't THAT good. they were ok. and better than what was on the radio but any effort is better than the radio lol. this is good though but it's no mos def

  • they get fergie and start doing auto-tune modern pop shit sell outs and cut their hair

  • Jorge Ben

  • sample brazilian music Jorge Ben (5 minutes)

  • the melody its super but the melodies on the future are than better i am roumanian and bep is my favorite band

  • Biggest sellout group of this generation. On par with Metallica.

  • This cd is always checked out of the libraries in Finland. Hard to come by. Fact.

  • I don't care everything that was produced after bridging the gap doesn't exist and

no-ones going to tell me otherwise

  • this is my mfs

  • is this hip hop ?

  • @120hazz i would say so man yeah

  • there is good music like this still out there, except that its underground. BEP was increadible before they became really famous.

Its the case for most artist out there....so if your looking for good music, make sure its underground especially when it comes to hiphop. Other than Lupe and Common i dont know who to mention atm

  • Such a good sound. I am feeling vibes from ATCQ.

  • This is a copy from "Jorge Ben - Cinco Minutos"

  • yo people don't even know these songs exist smh

  • FUCK FERGIE U CHANGED ALL THERE GOOD SHIT!

  • I appreciate their old shit. What a bunch of fucking sell outs now.

  • @robroythefirstmm Moarfamissthanunow

  • @robroythefirstmm chill man, just keep it on the positive

  • Amazing. This is golden age hip-hop my friends: the best of the best. It's really sad to say but the Black Eyed Peas are almost the epitome of a sell-out.

  • Back when they were good !

  • Good Lord.... what happened?

  • jorge ben - cinco minutos (five minutes)

"pedi você pra esperar cinco minutos só você foi embora embora embora sem me atender..."

  • Comment removed

  • @bballswish1 yea well, i dont have to like that truth lol

  • @bballswish1 Your are a fuckhead, it's not about money, it's about passion.. Get the fuck out of here !

  • @bballswish1 Really? So people who say they miss when the Black eyed peas made music that had actual meaning are idiots? How old are you? 15?

Real music isn't about "people knowing about you". It's about staying true to your style regardless of popularity. The Black Eyed Peas sold out point blank.

  • I can imagine the big ceo telling em: "I will make you rich! All you need is that bitch in your band!"

  • @Kochasiech hahaha A.T.B.A.N klann download link on my page before black eyed peas, before THE black eyed peas good album

  • @LegendCorridor yea man, one of my all-time favorite lines in rap

  • Jorge Ben Jor, Cinco Minutos, Tabua Esmeraldina, Brasil

  • what the FUCK was that superbowl halftime debacle?! OMG that was horrible, they need to come back and listen to their own music. Snow has more street cred than them now.

  • @ih8urVideo I know, I know.... As halftime shows go it was one of the better ones, but BEP stopped being BEP many many years ago.......

  • Good times

  • Frankly , i was expecting better than this . I was told this was a great album but imho it's only average . Kind of an atcq emulation that failed . Therefore them selling out isnt a huge loss to hip hop from my perspective.

  • @lari861 what the fuck are you talk ing about this album is 12 years old! youre an idiot

  • @cisco0209 Cant you read ?

  • Racionais mc´s usa bases do Portishead em várias. Então tudo bem, fica elas por elas. She for she, rs.

  • dang..sucks how they sold them selves out:/

  • PLAGIARISM

  • VIVA JORGE BEN!

  • I like the black eyed peas and everyone knows as time goes by music changes and artists sell out, there's nothing wrong with that, but bands/artists do keep to their genre except from these, they use to be a good hip-hop/rap band and now they are just mainstream pop/electro band! the last time i enjoyed a new bep song (when it was new) was about 6 years ago. So sad :(

  • @hk9449 you're not the only one

  • 3:16

    HA YEAH!

  • putting aside jay z, these are some of the biggest sellouts in hip hop. thier not even seen as hip hop anymore. it's like fergie sucked all of it out of the black eyed peas

  • the new BEP songs make me enjoy the gr8 songs that they had before

  • 4 ppl can't think positive

    when 87 are thinking positive.

i like the old black eyed peas.

this is the end from their music

  • i used to compare the Black eye pea to the ROOTS, Tribe call Quest, The Far Side (west coast) soul of mischief type group chill out funk, poetic lyric

  • @yamoo001 i understand autotunes has been around for way longer than tpain. yet imo since he made it more of his way make hit records and profit in commericial rap/r&b/pop, every song now you hear on the radio has gotten into the act. like you said panic has gotten into it even flippin country music is doing it. if you look at the billboard charts most of the hot 100 singles has some form a/ts. its like where the balance in this industry.

  • @cuzitsnecessary autotune was around before T pain he just made it more popular. Don't blame him for the bad singers. Even Panic! At The Disco has used autotune

  • @hk9449 trust mate there are still loads of people that respect true hiphop, young and old. It's people with a positive mind and don't get brainwashed into mainstream music who are true people

  • these guys used to be so fucking good.

  • plagiarism

  • I don't understand rap music. When there is a cool part, it's generally sampled from a previous, better song. Then why the hell bother listening to it anyway?

  • @luizcadu Don't like it don't listen to it.

  • 3 People arent keeping it positive

  • This songs kicks it nice.

  • They began as a group that rapped about the truth. They sold out. How it works is if you speak truth, you can either deny the offer or give in to it.

  • cant blame Fergie it was Will.i.am

  • 3 people have tiny cocks

  • Once again, the genius Jorge Ben gets stolen. Just search "5 minutos Jorge Ben" on Youtube to listen and take your own conclusions.

  • they stole these beats from Jorge Ben Jor song called "5 minutos"

  • @ddlibanio Jorge Ben, the most stolen musician. That's all.

  • This LP was solid!!! Then it just became a pop band with no heart.

  • ah the good days before that tranny came along.

  • This is beautifal ! Black eyed peas at their best.. To me they dont exist now.

  • their best album right here

those sellouts. the E.N.D. was the end of their hip hop

  • estragaram (SPOIL) a música Cinco Minutos do Jorge Ben.

    clap clap

  • pegaram a musica 5 minutos do mestre jorge ben

  • Jorge Benjor is the law!

  • Comment removed

  • @jkoster16 your a faaaaaaaded ass nigga xD what the FUCK you talking about 0.0

  • The original one is "cinco minutos" from Jorge Ben, composed in the 70's !!!!!!!!!

  • Just like "cinco minutos" from Jorge Ben.

  • @hk9449 No you're Not!! ok, i mean, im 16, but only since about 1 month... xD

  • This is a brazilian song from Jorge Ben Jor!!!

  • when black eyed peas where hip hop and not gimmick money making chart climbers...

  • 2:16 Look how the Black Eye Peas went out. From mad flow to no go.

    ATBAN klan no more....:(

  • I dont get why everyone became so wack....this generation that didnt come up on this ish is all fucked up now im not blaming them but there was so much more positive music coming out when i was younger...its seriously seems like its taken its toll....late teens and early 20 are very shallow and self centered now.....

  • @skizm22 Wow, that's exactly what I was thinking when I listened to this. :) Hope they grow up looking for ways to get less shallow, and better music ^^

  • Comment removed

  • @skizm22 amen! music went down for me around 2003 and i was a junior in HS. i was still stuck on my 90s and first few years of the 00s tunes. people thought i wasnt human because of it. now i see some of these supposed artists coming up now and glad i grew up on music from classic soul, old school r&b/rap, 80s, classic rock and 90s dance/club in my household. no one can sing anymore every1 is on that autotunes garbage, i still want to kick t-pain's ass for introducing it to music, ugh!

  • @skizm22 lastly, i hate how today's kids and teens think what they are listening to is the fire or da business, no it ain't. it's okay at best or straight sorry ass music, everything sounds the same with no originally or creativity. it's really depressing.

  • @skizm22 i soooo agreee...what happened....and im 19..its a danm shame what has happened to music...^_^

  • @skizm22 #1- very well put. couldn't have said it better myself.

secondly, the 5 people that disliked this vid are probably in their late teens/ early 20's...

  • @skizm22 Still here don't worry, it moved up North.

  • @skizm22 well i don't know if you've noticed but there isn't much original music coming out, neither are movies or books it's mostly all a copy of the past it's all a remix or a comic book made movie or a movie made book wither way not much creativity flowing around

  • Great track

  • seach for: Jorge Ben - Cinco Minutos (5 Minutes)

  • Copy of a 1974 Brazilian hit

  • Does anyone have that instrumental piece on vinyl. It was the last cut on the b-side. I put it on tape----roommate was a Dj.

  • Even though they bitched out with this Boom Boom Pow and shit, I can't hate them for gettin where they are now. Living the American Dream.

  • It really is too bad to see these guys pervert themselves and their art with some watered down BULLSHIT and typical whore status... Man when I saw these dudes come out back in the day I was SOOOOOOOO stoked... Now I can't even LOOK at them.

  • que horror. estragaram uma das minhas músicas favoritas do jorge ben. ouçam a versão original, por favor! eca.

  • it's hard to make a living but easy to make a killing.

BEP know that more than anyone.

  • They got tired of heads bobbin while their pockets were bleeding. They have MAD talent. Their production quality has ALWAYS been on a higher level. It upsets me that for these guys to become REALLY PAID they had to tap the status quo (hire a slut). These are the breaks.... break it up break it up BREAK IT UP!

  • Que lixo!

    Estragando Jorge Ben

  • fergie is a bitch who need some anal..

fuck fergie, even her name is bitch..

    i like their old style.

    New style suck !!!

But lets be onest... these three also have brain, and they went for commercial, so actually they betrayed us

  • UPGRADE IS A BULLET POINT OF A SUCESS.....FERGIE WAS NEEDED FOR GLOBAL TAKE OVER.....

  • JORGE BEN JOR

  • essa música é 100 BRAZA !!

  • its not that the past is dope and the present is wack. they are smart they moved from true hip hop just like the world did. they are getting more money now then they ever would have if they stayed true to only hiphop. im a bboy and hip hop head and props to them and fergie for moving on and not being stuck underground

  • does any body one know where i can download this for free

  • The instrumental basis of a Brazilian song ... jorge ben 1974

  • they need to go back to this style

  • Bad ass & concious!! Its unfortunate that they don't make uplifting tracks like this anymore...dawn that Fergie!!!

  • @Aggromerchant Do you even know what hip hop is? Sampling is a major component in hip hop, without it it's not the same music. Sampling is the process of taking a piece from a song, movie etc. and CONVERTING/FORMING YOUR OWN MUSIC. Lots of rappers used a Led Zeppelin sample but none of his fans cried about it. Just show some respect.

  • @FresnoCalisucks all started in Jamaica !! agree .....

  • @FresnoCalisucks AYO! In the words of Rakim "I hook a beat up and convert into Hip Hop form"

But your right Hip Hop isn't really true without the art of sampling! and Led Zeppelin was a group brother man! Jimmy Page was the lead man.

  • @FresnoCalisucks cant be bothered looking for his comment but is Aggromerchant trying to say that sampling is shit?! sampling kinda reflects your style, it shows ou are creative in your music. It there to make surre when you hear their music people are like "yh dis is black eye pease"thats what sampling is all about. not you but this guys dont know what he is talking about if thats what he is saying

  • this song reminds me of NERD's Fly or Die

  • now this is tight this is when they were good. not all that sell out shit.

  • i like some of their new songs but this sounds much better

  • fuck fergie shes wack! sounds like a dude and shit!...this is when they were black eyed peas!...now they consist of 4 members with only 2 in the spotlight...fuckin ridic!

  • Primeiro pau brasil. Depois ouro. Já se passaram mais de 500 anos e os gringos continuam a saquear o Brasil. Soube q não pagaram um centavo a Jorge Benjor. Se o Rod Stewart teve q pagar por um trecho de uma música imagina essa chupação...
