@CureRadio I say AF because the quality of life is better, in my opinion everything is better in the AF. Im enlisting later this year. But if you want to join AF you better enlist quick because the cutoff for AF is 27. And the cutoff age for Navy is 34.

I was on delayed enlistment and finally went in around the fall of 02. Our flight ended up getting "honor flight" and I still have the (unworn) t shirt you could buy once it was official. I took it out to look at it not long ago and the memories came flooding back as I read through the names.

@ViperSRTnACR I actually still talk to quite a few ppl from BMT and Tech School and I ran into my TI while I was in 7 Level school- he was much nicer :) I don't care what branch you're in , being in the military really does give you a sense of pride and I'll always be known as SSgt Rivera :)

Heh all my BMT friends I keep in touch with are all SSgt's and Tsgt's believe it or not. And a fellow AIRMAN I was friends with at my first duty station is now pinning on Capt. this summer after crossing over to the O side a few years back. I ran into two of my past TI's while on lackland in tech school and both were "cool" but you still hard to keep your guard up for sure. Anyways, pleasure running into a fellow service member surfing the youtube waves... :)

I whent to basic a day before thanksgiving and had to miss out on christmas, new years, my anniversary and being with my wife to hear the news that we are going to have a baby. it was christmas eve and i got a 15 minute phone call and thats when she told me i was going to be a daddy. the best christmas present of my life and it only made me strive to do better

ooooh graduation day. that was the best feeling going back to the company area, get a smoking from the Drill Sergeants and then being on our way. The bus ride out of the post was amazing. I felt a natural high from that, I swear it. Being in the the most god forsaken humidity I have ever felt (even the Texans complained) is aweful and knowing that I was in that shit for 11 weeks was dumbfounding to me. Graduation day is the best, no matter what service (Army! Hooah!)

@ikkeennigij121 at this point all trainees have passed the initial medical and physical evaluations at MEPS. However, sometimes there are things that happen (injury) or an existing medical condition that was discovered that can eliminate a person from being in the military.
