He is however, a little racist tho. From what he tells me about everyone else in the area as well as himself, there def is a sharper edge to you guys but obviously its not everybody. And its hard for me not to feel sympathy for a fellow fan base that goes through hardships regardless.
I am a New York sports fan. This video beautifully captures pain and passion though in a way that transcends sports loyalties. This mostly focuses on the disappointments but by peppering in some hilights and high points of Philly sports, it shows why you guys keep coming back to your teams again and again, only to be heartbroken again, very compelling.
Obviously I know things are different now that the 08 Phils broke through, still a beautiful video for the time it represented.

Philly is the best sports city ever. Boston cheated to win all their championships (Manny and Ortiz used steroids, Patriots videotaped their opponents practices, and the Celtics bought their championship) and New York fans are so spoiled by championships that they don't even care anymore. Philadelphia is so great because the city really does cherish every championship and every big win, and they always pack the house no matter how good or bad the team is doing (except for the Sixers...)

I don't know how long your short life has been so far, but I am 46 and have never seen an Eagles championship. I hope to see one in my lifetime, as 2010 marks 50 years since their last title. (At least it isn't the 102 years since the Cubs won - or the 65 years since they last went to the Series!)
On the other hand, I have witnessed back-to-back Stanley Cups, two Phils' World Series wins, not to mention back-to-back World Series appearances. I have also seen the 76ers go all the way as well.

Philly is the best sports city ever. Boston cheated to win all their championships (Manny and Ortiz used steroids, Patriots videotaped their opponents practices, and the Celtics bought their championship) and New York fans are so spoiled by championships that they don't even care anymore. Philadelphia is so great because the city really does cherish every championship and every big win, and they always pack the house no matter how good or bad the team is doing (except for the Sixers...)

I dont care what happens, all I care about is seeing the Eagles win a superbowl. Now that the flyers have changed coaches and suck, itll be a few years before theyre any good, the phils are gonna stay as dominant as they were, and could win another world series in the years to come... i know it is depressing and there was alot of tears...but watching those games with mcnabb, westbrook, benick, iverson, bell, howard, and utley has been the greatest years of my short life, i know i have only seen one championship in my so far...but i love the eagles and i will see them make it before i die, i will bet on it

I don't know how long your short life has been so far, but I am 46 and have never seen an Eagles championship. I hope to see one in my lifetime, as 2010 marks 50 years since their last title. (At least it isn't the 102 years since the Cubs won - or the 65 years since they last went to the Series!)
On the other hand, I have witnessed back-to-back Stanley Cups, two Phils' World Series wins, not to mention back-to-back World Series appearances. I have also seen the 76ers go all the way as well.
