The lock-on version of F15 (the C) is the Air to Air (air superiority), and its the old one, the one with the 100:1 record of AA kills, from the 1970s.
The one in Jane's F15, is the E strike eagle, released about 10years or so later than the lock-on version. You can see the "upgrades" in the amount of MFDS, and the HUD information, are similar to the F16 (i think they just carried over technology). The F15E was debuted in Operation Desert Storm, for AG strikes. I think it has a poor AA record.

Yeah, F15 along with Longbow2 were about the best in their genre at the time. I tried F18 but I don't like the dark textures, even though it's the avionics are high up there.
You should look into Falcon 4. The Red Viper 'mod' has made it into something way better than what it was back when F15 was big.
Do a search on here, and you'll find some nice stuff about it.
I went to an air show in Kansas a few years ago. Climbed up to the cockpit of an F15-A on display with a USAF pilot in it. Asked him if he'd heard of Jane's F15. He said he'd played it, and that he thought it was "realistic". It was super awesome to hear him say that :D

Many people - me included - EA would release the code and let people mod it. That would be just plain awesome. When you look at what they did for Falcon 4, one can only imagine.

The F-15E is just as good in the air superiority role as the F-15C, if not even better.
I just wish they would've put the F/A-18A/C as a third western flyable in LOMAC :(

Yes, you can. You just have to find somebody else with the game, have the V1.17 patch installed, and connect via direct IP.
