Well, the Japanese are harvesting Minke because they want to eat it. They could eat only rye grass and soy beans, but they prefer not to. And that us their right. Like cows and pigs, Minkes aren't on the endangered species list so I'm fine with it.

Well, the Japanese are harvesting Minke because they want to eat it. They could eat only rye grass and soy beans, but they prefer not to. And that us their right. Like cows and pigs, Minkes aren't on the endangered species list so I'm fine with it.
(Plus I like seeing smelly vegans crying in their tofu when the Japanese send their boats to the bottom. But that's just me.)

Any nation can declare and enforce a national park or sanctuary WITHIN ITS OWN BOARDERS.
But the open oceans don't belong to any one nation or organization, which is why Australia talks big but does nothing while whalers harvest these Minke whales (which are NOT on the endangered species list). Territorial limits (generally) extend twelve miles, and that's it!
That "Whale Sanctuary" is an international joke that can't be enforced. Nor will it ever! Lol!

As for hunting rabbit, duck, quail, and elk and what not I personally havent gone hunting but I know people who do and use the meat from the animal to make a living off of/ eat the meat of the animal.

@avalanchesoul Actually they would. Since their profit requires them to catch a certain amount of whales every season if there were indication of the whale population not being able to support their business they would stop whaling long enough for the population to recover so they could continue making money.

@avalanchesoul uhhh I highly doubt that, it would be bad for business if they hunted the whales to extinction (whales=money, so no whales=no money). Japanese are smarter than that, you would know that if you've ever been to a math bee.
