I remember Mizlou. They televised a lot of the minor bowl games [syndicated to independent and some network-affiliated stations] before cable, and ESPN in particular, practically drove them out of business.
That Georgia team that beat UK 31-6 ended winning the SEC. Their only losses came against Ole Miss (21-17) and Pitt in the Sugar Bowl (27-3) that clinched the National Championship for the Panthers.
UK ran the wishbone back then under Fran Curci? Didn't know that. Good to see the Good Ol' Days of CFB, back when OBs were actually allowed to check off at the line. *_*
Kentucky's win in this Peach Bowl springboarded the Wildcats to their great 1977 season, where they finished 10-1, including a 24-20 'upset' of Penn State, which turned out to be the only loss of the season for the Nittany Lions. However, B/C they were put on NCAA probation, they couldn't go to a bowl game, and they didn't even win the SEC, B/C Alabama had one more conference win than UK.

That Maryland team that UK lost to 24-14 went undefeated, untied, and won the ACC, but lost 30-21 to Houston in the Cotton Bowl.

5:57-6:00 That really sucked that back then you couldn't return fumbles for TDs in CFB. All B/C of "Wrong Way" Roy Regels. ;-(

That loss for UK against Mississippi State would later be forfeited for NCAA Violations.
