Good job, don't listen to these punks, they probably can't even planche themselves, and considering this was three years ago... You probably got it now. Or are close.
These are not proper , your legs arent straight and your head is too far down, this is just like a semi hand stand, I cann pull these off, this compared to an actual planche , the difference is insane.
This is what I'm doing at the moment, too. But I'm not sure how much it helps, because it doesn't really do much for your pectorals. Focus is more on shoulder, tricept, forearm, lower back and traps. Need a little more for lats and pects.
Try going from a supported tuck planche into a straddle with your legs at the angle his are at, but when you extend your legs, also lean forward. That'll get the form you need.
@jakeboy588 work on your upper body strength mostly with calisthenics watch alot a planches videos because its a lil hard to explain but you should take it a step at a time when you get enough strength you shoud be able to bring your knees to your elbows and lift your feet of the ground and hold your weight....thats where im currently at and threw time you would be able to kick your legs back
that's where i'm atm; holding for as long as poss and pushing, but also pausing when arms r straight at the top for a few secs each rep helps strength.
dont dis him if you cant match or beat him. That is a hard type of pushup even if its not horizontal (proper planche pushup) or vertical enough to be a handstand pushup. STFU noobs and post your own vid and beat his
one: put pants and a shirt on, you look like a skinny nacho libre wrestler missing your cape and mask. two: youre too vertical, get more horrizontal. focus on core and balance so you can achieve this. three: youre barely moving your arms. get a full range of motion. again, this will take a lot of core and balance. and four, I just remembered. repeat step one.
I can't do that, I'm too bulky to lift my legs in the air by myself, but I can do them if I prop my legs up on something maybe? Prolly wouldn't get as much out of it though.
What lead ups did you do to get where you're at now? Did you do much training with static poses like tuck planches, etc. or mostly just doing pushups in gradually tougher positions?
Yes I do a few sets of tuck planches, about a dozen each time. One arm pushups also help. The main thing is not to be scared of raising your body, for some people I train with, it helps to practise doing handstands to significantly improve balance. Good luck!
darn that's great o.0 i can only do like 10 onehanded pushups and a raise from the ground(on my hands, off the ground and raising my feet into a handstand)-which i think is hard o.0 but u... damn u're good

sammysweet89 2 years ago
If you prop your legs on something it is an incline push up.. and it makes a drastic difference, so I wouldn't recommend it :)

heartlessjerk 3 years ago
The movement from this exercise is pretty pointless. There's a very small range of motion.
As a static hold, though, its nice.
TheAmazingOti 3 years ago
range of motion doesn't matter.
what matters is the intensity.
heartlessjerk 3 years ago 3
A greater range of motion = greater gains in strength.
Would you do pull-ups so wide that you could only move 2 inches? No.
TheAmazingOti 3 years ago
Less motion would mean more reps until failure, no?
o1Soulja 2 years ago
Possibly, but less motion also means less strength and less relevance to the real thing.
TheAmazingOti 2 years ago
Nice! i'm trying to work my way up to learn planche pushups myself. you're almost there, keep it up
