  • "What does it take to get rid of these planet twits?"

I don't know... a fucking gun shot to the face, decapitation via a samurai sword, etc. Hell, kicking Wheeler in the shin might make him cry and fall down, possibly hitting his head against the concrete causing a fatal hemorraging... USE YOUR IMAGINATION!! XD

7:10 - 7:18 Yes, everyone listen to blue homosexual dressed in gay undies with a green mullet o_O

    7:25 - 7:37 Thanks, Obama... you're a great coach, but a mediocre president XP

  • @Btrstarwolf Starting a riot, libel (because of what they said about AIDS)

  • @TheSkyrocketeer Well, they are contagious, but not by casual contact.

  • Hide ya kids hid ya wife hide ya husbands cause the villians are spreading lies everywhere

  • So a magical flying blue man with a green mullet drops out of the sky, and you willingly go with him as he picks you up and carries you away?

I get that they were trying to promote positive awareness and all... but what were they thinking with this episode?

  • Captains planet has a mullet. Todd is probably gay obviously the town is in a gay hating southern state.

  • Jeff got aids too Todd gave it to him. He just doesnt wanna be ridiculed.

  • Ummm...On exactly what charges did they get arrested? Like if you call the cops like Ummm yeaa these two giant rats in trench coats are tellin people this guy has AIDS then you're probably gonna get arrested for drug charges...jus sayin

  • So let me get this strait. Captain Planet is spose to be called on when there is global warming, floods, nuclear meltdown, Oil spills in the ocean, and making sure a kid can make it to a high school basketball game........ got it

  • Towns people were assholes

  • @MGBandit75 Remember, back then, there was a sudden outbreak of HIV. There was mass paranoia and people were trying to get rid of anyone that had HIV because they thought that they had AIDS.

They didn't know that neither AIDS nor HIV are contagious.

  • the power is yours

    and this speech is terrible

  • They talk about hate being wrong and all, but think about it.

When AIDS was first discovered not many people had it.

If they killed em all, it wouldnt be an epidemic.

    Just saying...

  • @flagg2kplus Dude, you are so stupid.

If I killed you, you wouldn't spread stupidity.

    Just saying...

  • Remember kids! Don't get AIDS or people will riot and rat people will try to take over the world!

  • There are just some issues and subjects that should not be portrayed in horribly animated cartoons. This is one of them.

  • Todd later moved to NYC and infected the cast of "Rent".

  • Whoever made Captain Planet is a king troll and a monster for indoctrinating children with such a stupid view on social issues.

  • The coach should have said "if you don't treat Todd right, I'm gonna rape all of you and you'll become gay blue people!!! Yes, I also raped the captain..."

  • Man, That brings back some memories , An goosebumps when Captain planet was made.

  • 1:48 Random businessman dry-humping the fruit stand for no apparent reason! XD

  • @Negative1One Honestly, I really don't fucking know. I was high as a motherfucker the whole time I was watching this shit.

  • I heard Betty Devill and Lil from Rugrats in this episode. Betty wouldn't be a cunt like that!

  • He still has AIDS

  • SUIT UP!!! LMAO!!

  • use heart mati heart!!!!.....oh right never mind

  • when I watched this as a kid it never occurred to me to wonder why the giant Rat gave a crap about a high school footballer.

  • How is Scum in that kid's dream if he's never seen him? And why doesn't that coach tie his necktie?

  • "And I'm just about sick'a guys named Todd!" - the great, late George Carlin.

  • Why were the rats arrested?

  • And to finish it off. A victory HUG.

  • Captain planet needs a haircut

  • Love Jeff's stereotypical Asian bowl cut

  • Comment removed

  • did people who hear you can get it from a handshake hear it from a rat in a trench coat? Because he's been causing some trouble

  • @ImigoTenshi1

"people would be getting HIV all the time" Well? Aren't people getting HIV infected all the time then? Aprox 55,000 people in the US alone get infected on yearly bases. You know I'm right.....

10 Years ago people coulden't even Travel into the US if they were HIV positive, because of the great risk of infecting others.

  • @ImigoTenshi1

Better frightend and alive, then ignorant and HIV Infected lol!!

You can get it from a handshake after someone uses the bathroom. The Virus is also present in the saliva from feces and on your genitellia.

  • People are disgusting even in the cartoons :/.

  • @clustro

Funny thing is this is a left wing liberal show in a way. But still good show

  • Well it's better not to hang around with or use the same items as people with aids/hiv do. They only need to lose a drop of blood, by a scratch or mabey a splinter. And you too could get it! Or mabey he forget to wash his/her hands after the bathroom, one wrong handshake could mean your doom.

  • So there I am, minding my own business when a rat in a trench coat incites me to destroy a produce stand. Then I start throwing shit at some kid and his mother and some Soviet chick runs up and shoots wind out of her finger at me. Then this other kid shows up in some sort of jet which almost gets hit by a truck before another kid shoots it with fire. Then the cops showed up and I bailed. I don't know why I did it. That rat in a trench coat was persuasive.

  • wtf is with the asian guy, is he saying that people think they are gay? dude when one of your first lines is "next week we'll do it" i think you are gay.

  • So.... the irrational crowd was convinced by a blue man with green hair wearing spandex within the span of 3 minutes. Right.

    "Deal with the Real" xD

  • 8:54 That's a terrible foul, why didn't anyone call that?!

  • Child birth is bad, But genocide is good!

  • @4:00 squeal like a pig todd!

  • @ 2:48 "Nigger why are you in my house?"

  • Todd's dead by now. LOL

  • Deal with the real!

  • the moral of story: no matter how hard a worker you are, how nice a person you are, or how you manage to teach a whole town a lesson about tolerance... you can still get HIV which will develop into AIDS and you will have a shorter lifespan... but you still get that basketball scholarship and the girl who you probably wont have sex with since you still have HIV / AIDS.

  • @roranic uh, Who do you think he got aids FROM?

  • So he can still play basketball, He's got his friends back, and he's back together with his girlfriend.........but he still has HIV and is going to die?

  • This reminds me of the Ryan White case. That didn't have such a happy ending.

  • If only it was that easy to educate ppl against stigmatization and prejudice towards ppl with HIV-AIDS.

  • wait a minute? he STILL has AIDS how is this resolved?

  • suit up ted

  • When they said what are you gonna do to us, I thought Captain planet was going to say infect you with HIV/AIDS

  • wait so they go after the kid with aids, and destroy a vegetable stand for no reason.... does this make any sense?

  • @eques101 because it shows how angry they are >:D everyone knows : when you destroy a vegetable stand. You mean business

  • "Deal with the Real" had to be one of THE corniest lines in cartoon history

  • Wat if after the speech they still wanted him to go away....lol.

  • I wish the announcer would have used a play on words during the game like.".Boy Todd was a real AIDE to his team. Or "Todd AIDS in another assist". Or then he just branches off into commentary that dosent make any sense like ."Boy for a jock its quite remarkable he gets straight AIDS on his report card"....Just really blatant and being a straight dick about it.That would have been a nice touch to the episode.

  • and this speech is terrible

  • why did that rat thing get arrested ? what is it the charges of walking off after a speech?

  • My god... This has to be the worst cartoon ever...

  • hahahahah his li brother's eye had a disease!!! LMAO

  • This episode has an important lesson to teach us all. AIDS and H.I.V. are not spread by casual touching, but people are in a state of shock that they act before they think.

Like Captain Plaet said: Get the facts.

  • @spikeriley Or, like Todd said: Aids stinks. xD

  • I bet the next episode will be about asshole gonnorhea.

  • at the end, she was gonna kiss him but she remembered he has AIDS

  • @mdizzle18700 But the major important thing to know is you cant contract hiv from kissing and salivia the main way it spreads is through cemen and other bodily fliuds like blood that dont generally expose themselves outside of the body too often you cant contract it from salivia. The more you know!

  • @ChoukoCha

You're right kid! Thanks for helping me get the story straigh it's a shame people can be so ignorant. That's why I like Captain Planet, he is very educational.

  • "If Todd had any other disease, you'd be cheering him on!" Not true!

  • @Progo35 well kinda cause then they feel sorry for him

  • I want a superhero to come and get me if I'm running late for a basketball game

  • That jerk Skumm and his pal have several counts against them when it comes to law: 1st breaking in the doctor's office and look up private medical info then releaseing it publicly, 2nd five counts of attempted murder, 3rd forming a group to vandalize property, and 4th holding a person at his/her will.

  • @CROSSTATT

Don't forget defamation of character too, by publishing the posters.

  • Spreading AIDS ignorance is the most diabolical plot since Joker put smiley faces on fish.

  • that kid is pretty resourceful 6:20

  • "Deal with the real." Best line.

  • i just want to see captain go psycho and strangle one of those bastards.

  • 0:15...I am surprised she didn't start singing "Blame Canada"

  • 8:43 They got arrested for telling lies about HIV/AIDS?

Then again, they WERE involved in a drug deal operation.

  • those ring powers are just as cool as when i was little. what i'd give to have a ring that emits wind when i point it at people, instead of just from my butt

  • 8:46 wat are the chargers i don't understand you go to jail for saying some one has aids that really does have aids?

  • @YoungBossMajor You go to jail for stealing and releasing somebody's private medical information.

  • @YoungBossMajor i know it's been a year, but

    1. breaking and entering

    2. attempted murder

    3. leaking private information

    4. causing riots/disturbing the peace

    5. kidnap (considerably)

remember, he broke into the doctor's office w/ intention to cause all of this mayhem and nearly succeeded.

  • Love how they stress that "You aren't gonna catch the aids, don't panic!" but then at the end Tod and his girlfriend do this awkward little hug instead of kissing when they reconcile (not even on the cheek? really?).

  • Man, that kids black eye was vicious. Ignorant Parents piss me off.

  • Why were they panicking before they checked the rest of the house at 3:07?

  • @picatsoforfma when she said gone i think they thought he hung himself at 3:07

  • let our powers combine

    GRAVITY!

  • Captain Planet: "By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!"

    Planeteers: "Go Planet!"

Captain Planet: 'Whats the situation kids?"

Planeteers:"Help us save a boy with HIV!"

Captain Planet: "Seriously, can you morons do ANYTHING by yourselves?"

  • @terminator9990 LOL! You know the underlaying problem with this show is they keep trying to press this whole notion that "THE POWER IS YOURS" and yet THEY KEEP GIVING IT UP. Oh sure, everyone person "COULD" do something to save mankind, but that's too hard so let's a SUPERHERO it do it for us. And this time even the Captain himself gives up the power and gym cause do AIDS education for him. Why couldn't they just him to stop the angry mob, if he's THAT persuasive.

  • LMAO!! I never knew captain planet got this intense!!!!

  • Its thanks to shows like this that the truth about AIDS was realised. That its nearly impossible to pass it along except via direct bodily fluid.

  • I don't know why people keep posting the question, "What was the storyline of this video?" Venomous Skumm represents ignorance, hate, and fear. People with HIV have had to face all of those horrendous concepts from uneducated and uninformed people. Skumm wanted to perpetuate hate because he feeds on it. It was a way to inform kids that people with HIV are normal people and are not to be feared or treated poorly.

  • what was the storyline of this episode I mean whats the reason how can spreading lies about one kid help them? can someone explain why they did this and really no one is concerned about two rats in a lcoset saying someone has aids and there worryed about todd lol and then if aids could be spread through casual touching wouldnt one of them or his gf already have it AND didnt todd get elbowed isent that a foul this episode has so many flaws but it was still a good episode

  • Did the coach just tell Neil Patrick Harris to suit up? (8:18)

  • @Stammzelle Ha! Suit up! I wonder if it was an inside joke.

  • @Stammzelle <3

  • omg . lol. an aids episode

  • omg . lol. an aids episode

  • I love how the crowd mindlessly follows whoever.

  • This Episode ROCKS!!!

  • Why in the world are they destroying the healthy vegetable stand??

  • if I recall correctly, the origin of HIV was supposedly from eating green monkey meat. On one of the African continent's I think it was.

Of course, since the monkeys had the virus already. There was another way it could have been spread about, if you know what I mean LOL

Draw your own conclusions people, draw your own conclusions. just think Castro Street, with the monkeys

  • captain sounded like a perve when he picked up todd

  • EARTH! "FORE"! WIND! WATER! HEART!

  • They got arrested, because if the person with HIV wants the information to be private, and people spread the information to everyone, it can be considered a crime. Also, it's a crime for looking through someone's private records unless they get permission.

  • Slander, attempting to incite a riot, and 5 counts of attempted murder are also good reason for those two to be locked up.

Still, they summoned Captain Planet so that the kid could get to his basketball game in time? That's not considered a misuse of their powers or something?

  • @blubberrry I doubt they could give evidence of the rat dude looking at his records. Also, it's NOT a crime to talk about someone's illness. Even if it WERE somehow inflammatory, truth is a legitimate defense to defamation.

  • @fuduzan5562 But slander is a crime.

  • Comment removed

  • HIV/AIDS isn't usually good kids' show fare, but back then it was probably good that they did cover it. There was still a lot of ignorance about the virus back then.

  • 7:50 - "If Todd had any other disease, you'd be cheering him on!"

  • That's probably the only line in the episode that makes any sort of sense.

  • HE'S GOT AIDS LOLOLOOLOL

  • He's got AIDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • I'm guessing everyone in the town, (except for the Doctor, who told Todd he was HIV positive in the first place) never had a Sex Education lesson in their lives. I love how everyone, EVEN the adults are convinced that AIDS are caught through casual contact. XD

  • @Kaagh178 actually, there are still many people who are ignorant about HIV/AIDS. Back when this show first aired, it was not uncommon to find adults who had never been educated about it. Remember, HIV/AIDS had only been discovered about 10 years before this aired, so no one knew about it when the adults of the 90's had sex ed.

  • He's got AAAAIIIIIIIIIIDS!

  • hooray for happy endings :D

  • Where was the offensive foul call when Andrews got elbowed by the other team? I also saw at least two instances of traveling on their final push up court. This game was very poorly officiated, especially for a championship game.

  • DEAL WITH THE REAL

  • Did they show this on Cartoon Network? I didn't even know they could show things like this.

  • WTF IS THIS

  • They did try to murder five people earlier in the episode, didn't they? D:<

  • @TakashiiBraxton I think murder attempts happen all the time from the villains, in children's cartoons. Except that no one dies in the end.

  • hahaahaahahhaha yes

  • You know whats funny is the just summon captain planet and he automatically knows what the fuck to do hahahha lo00olz

  • I read somewhere that's because even while in the rings, he's linked to the teens' minds.

What I find funny is the reason they call him this time. Oh no, Todd has no car and there's no bus stops near the fishing camp! He'll never get to the game in time. This is a job for Captain Planet! lol

  • hehe mebe..i thought something like that...and hahahhahahahah lo00ol yeh so true..one of the teens hey guys am hungry and i got no money..i want some food..The black foo let Our Powers Combined...Captain planet lo00ol

  • of course he would know what to do, captain planet is the combined power of the planeteers, since the planteers know what to do, captain planet automaticlaly knows what to do, remember knowledge is power

  • thatss cool! :)

  • Wtf? lol they just see him fly in with captain planet holding him and they're all like "Todd's here!" I would've been like whoa wtf!!!?

  • The message of this episode seems illogical - I'm sure most people are aware that HIV doesn't spread as easily as a cold.

It would be better if they focused on racism or something.

  • But at the time this episode aired it wasn't thought of that way.

  • Maybe today it would seem illogical, but HIV was discovered around the early 1980s, so it probably made more sense back then.

  • @YodatheJedi12

This aired back in 1991, before a lot of people knew that HIV didn't spread as easily as a cold. There was a case of a real life boy who contracted HIV through a blood transfusion a few years before this and the fear and ignorance he encountered was very much the same.

  • So...why do they get arrested at the end?

  • they said stuff that liberals dont like

  • 3 things

how do the parents not know wat AIDS is

since when does fire give u the power to shoot laza beemz

first childrens show to mention sex ftw

  • lo at 8:00 and further the coach and capitain plaet are giving a "speech". And it's so lame the wa their voices raise at then end of each sentence. ahhaha trying to be all martin luthar king ish hahaha

  • @ 8:19: The coach tells Todd to "SUIT UP!"

And now Neil Patrick Harris's best-known role is Barney on How I Met Your Mother.

I like to think that Barney's catchphrase was inspired by this episode.

  • lol those people in that cartoon are stupid. AIDS can't be spread by getting touched by someone with AIDS... only by blood transplantation or sex

  • how cartoonz hav changed....this was lil cheesy now watchin it.......but captain planet...wuuu huuuu the power iz urz

  • Really? I'd like to see that.

  • Wait, why the hell were they arrested in the end? What did they do that was illegal?

"You spread lies about AIDS! You must be punished!" lol

  • i think spreading hate and destroying stuff is illegal

  • Wow, I had no idea you could take over the world just by spreading AIDS.

6:31 I would not be like the kid, who seems glad to have some strange blue man in gay underwear flying him around; I'd scream, beat him over the head, and run away.

  • C'mon guys - a completely unrealistic storyline, but when you're tackling such a taboo issue considering the audience, you have to give them some latitude.

Besides, even mentioning HIV in a 90s kids show, let alone basing an entire episode on the issue, is amazing. I loved this show as a kid but don't remember this episode. Glad they made it though.

  • But a kid show? This kids are just learning how to say blue, but yet their talking about a unprotected sex and drugs using needles. lol?

  • I don't understand why they got arrested. What exactly did they do that would warrant an arrest? Except slander.

  • "So that's why he broke up with me"- deduced that a little fast, no? And god that laugh of theirs is the most annoying thing on earth- probably because I know someone who actually laughs like that.

And come on, a fedora and trench coat? Wouldn't that stand out a bit much in a school? a tall rat man is hiding in a closet in a trench coat and hat, and nobody is the least bit concerned?

and the mom "stooooop. Stop it." Soft and annoying voice will always stop a riot immediately. Always.

  • Is all you need as disguise a trench coat and a fedora hat?? Also, that crowd is weird. I mean you trash produce sale and make a kids life hell then a blue guy goes "AIDS is not spread by casual contact." and everyones like YAY!!!!!! LET HIM PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:30-0:34 "whatdoes it take to get rid of these Planet-Twits?" A FUCKING GUN.

    WITH BULLETS.

  • Was this episode lame? Of course.

But I have to give it tremendous credit for focusing on an issue that most kids' shows wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole.

During the 90s, ANY sources of AIDS education were difficult to come by as a kid, and though this episode may feature a ridiculous plot and even more ridiculous dialogue I applaud it for the general message it sends.

This episode served to educate many children about the basic facts of AIDS, and in that sense it was not lame at all.

  • I agree.

Even though the plot was difficult, I think this episodes teaches others about AIDS and how people could misinterpret a disease. This 1990's episode was pretty good for it's time.

    However, I think some people would gossip, or lie, about someone with a disease (like AIDS). To me, this episode teaches two lessions;

    1. about AIDS

    2. about people gossiping and lieing about a disease or medical condishion.

  • AIDS Gives you mystic visions? Good to know.

  • wow, i used to love this show as a kid. but this episode sucks!

  • How Do You Stop Aids? You Form An Angry Mob!!!

  • @mandapaige1 drain all the blood out of your body and replace the blood infected

  • This is the funniest thing I've ever seen.

The sad part about it is, this kind of attitude is actually not uncommon among your normal undereducated type.

  • "What are you gonna do to us, Captain Planet?!"

    "Wellllllll...nothing."

    WTF?!

  • "Then let's...DO IT!"

    That's how AIDS spreads =3

  • that is a very lame cartoon
