  • This is amazing.

  • It's beautiful

  • Nice painting, nice music. But when the visuals are sped up it does spoil the point of the vid. I too got bored and fast forwarded it just to the end to see the results. The idea was good, try again.

  • the music seems to bare no relation to the drawing

which kind of spoils this, so I can't even be bothered to finish watching it

  • aforsy is right, nice drawing though

  • oh lol one more thing, people that understand what I just said, that's why it's called "Automatic" Draw what comes to mind, so it's like a trigger to the brain to automaticly draw what you feel when listening to music you like.

  • it's obv, that some people don't understand what is going on here. lol Kinda funny how some people are so simple minded. For the people that don't udnerstand, he is drawing what he feels. What he hears is what he draws. For people that don't understand what that means, then you obv just don't know what this type of art is. It's like how people are different in this world, we think differently to do different things. Simple as that. :) If you like to to be curious then this is a video for you.

  • it's kind of a pointless video once the drawing is sped up and we don't see the connection between the music and the drawing...2 stars.

  • What's with the comment censoring, coward?

  • i couldnt sit though that whole thing...

  • Id Laugh If He Ran Out Of Ink

  • Wow. So I guess anything passes as art.

  • art is subjective to interpretation...just like music.

what i like you may not...and vice-versa. just because you don't consider it 'art' doesn't mean it isn't.

    :)

  • I disagree, I think art can be objective.

  • subjective: opinion, judgement, assumption

P.S. narrow-minded: Lacking tolerance, breadth of view, or sympathy; petty.

  • Wow. So, if I don't think art is subjective I'm narrow minded?

Isn't that a narrow minded implication in itself?

P.S. hypocrisy: The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness.

  • You're right. EM's just thinking: "if they don't agree with me they're narrow-minded." Trying to act so open-minded by saying "just cus you dont think its art doesnt mean it isnt" wouldn't prove you so when you immediately lashes back at someone who states an opposing view.

  • retards!!!!!!!!!!!

  • somebody paints while another somebody plays some crappy guitar tunes? so what? Don't understand this... maybe I'm stupid or ignorant, but this somehow arty

  • perhaps this is one of the many things in life in which being high is a requirement to enjoy it?

  • being high always helps to enjoy such things :-) I mean, when you're high even olympic curling is damn delightful :)

  • I'm in love with this vid.. very inspiring.. makes me wanna pick up doing abstract stuff again ^^ and to all the haters who left comments above me.. FUCK you.. you dont understand art at all.

  • this sucks

  • nothing automatic at it?

  • lame..

  • It's beautiful

  • Da Vinci would have had the Last Supper done by now.

  • LOL

  • what is he using to paint with?

it cant be a brush, he never goes back for more paint

  • im guessing a scrawl pen

    used for quick tags usually

  • ....

  • It was a good idea and had looked forward to watching it. But after the first minute it i didn't really like it. 2 *'s i'm afraid :-(

  • the picture and the music kind of remind me about telling stories over a campfire. with the storytellers tripping apparently.

  • Story tellers on LSD than xD ;)

  • Shat Whinda Kit is this?

  • didnt like the painting, musics good =)

  • Acctually the name of the track is Free To Groove, not Feel To groove...

  • You folks are so cynical!! This just shows a painter who was inspired by the music. Of course the vid isn't in real time, it'd take to long. It just gives the idea! And to know what was taking place is the point. Maybe you could try it yourself.

  • modern art sucks

  • yo, that guitar playing was awesome. what song is that though?

  • A REAL SHIT HAHA

  • actually this isn't a collaboration. The man painting has been sped up, but the music hasn't. It was added in post production.

  • re "immitation of cubism"??? and was the guitarist immitating a certain style of music?

  • "collaboration" sounds fine. but i have the feeling/thought this isn't really interactive between the artists. it's more like we're watching a painter while a guitarist provides background music. but why am i thinking in that direction>? perhaps the guitarist was playing inspired by what he saw hapenning on the canvas? i think not. i believe they each had their agendas well planned before anything began.

  • Totally agree. The music AND the painting were pretty good, i just fail to see the "collaboration". Maybe I see it out of context, what the hell do I know.

  • it can be seen that the drawer has some graffiti art background...

  • Yes there should be some moments where you can see it in real time, i mean that`s what this vid is about, music inspiring a painter in realtime.

Anyways, the interpretation depends on the painter and the paiting style he has learned.

Sometimes i can imagine mooving objects when listening to music but my painting sucks :)

Have to wait for a mind recording machine to be invented.

  • between art and music?

it should be between "fine art" and music

music is an artistic medium itself

  • think the painting's cool...but the whole vid is so unrealistic. As if the painter would actually move that quickly. The picture is sped up...That's really poor if you ask me...

  • WOW YOU ARE A FUCKING RETARD.

  • I think it's just so you can see it done faster so you don't have to sit and watch it.

  • that does make sense ^^

still think it's a shame because for me the inspiration by the music doesn't come through if I can't see the way they worked together... :)

  • nice video greetings from nintwuitzland

  • I'm loving the acoustics, great art. Both artistic expressions fused together. It's like having a big ass radio next to your ear. :D

  • Excuse me. I really enjoyed video, and I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the piece that was played on the guitar.

  • Kind of reminds me of my doodles that I do when I'm bored in class =)

  • well get a radio and showcase your doodle lol.

  • I do understand art in almost anyform, and by the way I am not repressed by anything but well there is no need to keep arguing about this, anyways, we are obviosly in different ends of the rope. And I don't get angry at postmodern art at all!

  • Muse??? muses don;t tink and art is for thinkers. In art nothing is created without a plan!! ignorants!!!

  • I pity that you are so misguided about art.

  • I am a painter myself and I live out of it, I am a professional. And this is why painters or artist as you wish to call us, are so diminished in society. If you want to see my painting then tell me I will give you the adress!. This is pure ignorance!

  • Do tell me your URL I would like to see how I could be so misunderstood by professional.

  • If you think that muses rule the art then Michael Angelo was making crafts when he painted the sistine chapel since he didn't want to painted... there were no muses there for him but he could do it right?.. why? because he knew all the procedures to do it

  • Wtf Micheal Angelo has to do with this artist. You don't what he could had , maybe a woman singing in her panties while he was painting. It's 2008 man, get a grip. Dude is right, As an artist you should appreciate the art and it's form. Your piggy banking off this man's site and advertising your website disrespectful to this man's hard work. This is a wonderful creation. Take it for what it is, he is not Micheal Angel, he is himself. Your art must not be that great.

  • This is imitation of cubism ( Piccasso)

  • Art... real art is not to create emotions but to make people think... think about important things. Muses are not there to put you in a trance, I use Michel Angelo as an example because of simplicity, but you can go to all the real artist through history and you will find that they used knowlage before emotions. You can think of my art in anyway you want you are free to do so but at least I am sincerely dedicated to pass knowlage to others and not only an emotion that tomorrow they won't feel

  • besides this is so unreal that exactly the same painter won't feel the same emotion from the exact same song from one day to the next one and will make a total diferent painting day after day an on and on. Art is for the intelligence, art is the closest thing to science! I don't disagree with modern art in any form but I just don't see it here. Muses?? I don't know them and still paint everyday!

  • besides I gave my blog because this painter asked me to do so not because I needed to. I do my job and that is it. I don't even have busines cards, I don't get any benefit fron telling people to see my blog...you should read that I was not disrespecful but critic. please!! as if I needed to advertise myself on youtube!! please give me a brake... I have enough work for months and not thanks to this!!

  • no answer??

  • ranasjdothi5dotcom without triple w

  • If you call yourself a professional then you should behave as one. Take time to understand what you do not before shooting off your comments wildly. This performance was a collaboration between painter and musician. This was an experience of letting music influence a drawing process. It does not suggest that all paintings must have music as a muse...

  • The definition of muse may also have been misinterpreted by you. Muse is used here as another word for inspiration. Inspiration is the motivation that drives us to create...

Michaelangelo may have been inspired by his boys in the way that there is a lack of femininity in his figures - I could be wrong, but there is definitely something that inspires him or any other artists...

  • We are always thinking and planning. Were you thinking when you drove? Its obvious when you started learning to drive but as you get better, it becomes second nature and it seems like there is no thinking involved.

I suspect you are very repressed by your own troubles as a representational painter causing you to attack things you do not understand. I am a professional too and I used to paint like you and get angry at post-modern art. But I opened myself to learning...

  • I have learnt to respect different genre of art and artists. Furthermore, this performance was presented by a premier art venue of international standing and I have a masters degree in contemporary practice.

Your are a good painter and we could be friends, if only you could realise what ignorance is.

  • thanx for checking out my "subconscious time lapse" vid. I really do appreciate it. And i must say i LOVE your brush! It Performs just as good as you do. Fantastic work

  • Steady ah! Da macam Beastie Boys la pakai overall putih. Ada gaya, mutu, keunggulan!

  • cool move man!

hey you should collaborate with me for this one, so i could splash paint over your white jumpsuit.. that be cool isnt it. hehe

  • You did that LIVE dude... Great show!

  • WOW! I love the strokes and the flow of the drawing. The drawing is made even better with the sound of the flamenco music. Interesting collaboration! Hope to see more!!!
