I went to sleep while listening to this music. I had a lucid dream and was being chased by unknown enemies with guns in black suburbans. I was being chased on the highway and was riding a motorcycle trying to escape from them. Somehow the song echoed throughout my dream and I heard it while running from the armed enemies. BEST FUCKING DREAM I EVER HAD!

The oscars are overrated. I don't care if Hans Zimmer didn't win an oscar for this soundtrack, nor do I care if what certain thing or person won an award for something. All that matters at the end of it all is knowing what I like and what matters to me what I think is a quality product.

Because both soundtracks were spectacular and invaluably contributed to their respective films. They were equally deserving, so the actual winner came down to slight differences in taste. I love both soundtracks equally, for very different reasons. No need to bash one just to appreciate the other! :)
