I would think that the majority of moral precepts derive from two human attributes.
First, we have autonomous desires. We want/don't want things for ourselves. We want dominion over our bodies and our possessions for instance.
Second, we have a sense of empathy, which is essential for any social animal, so we reasonably tend to project our autonomous desires onto the community of our fellow human beings.
From the intuitive, "I don't want to be robbed," to "We don't want to be robbed."
