You absolutely can not shoot FROM any roadway or Vehicle under Iowa law, although you can shoot from the "shoulder" and across a roadway with shot, but not anything that fires a single projectile.

Where I live, if game wardens set up the decoy, it can't be a really big buck because even some respectful hunters can be tempted to shoot if it is a trophy of a lifetime.

If it looks like a deer and you bought a licence for the animal then whether it is shot walking or from the vechile it should not matter as long as it is a safe shot. What bugs my ass is when game wardens put decoys far in the bush away from any residential area's baiting people. We are not allowed to bait deer in our back yards because here where i live that is a crime too. I think game wardens should catch the people with no licence or the people who exceed there limits.

@tugz16 Under Missouri law it is illegal to fire a weapon from, or over, a public roadway, regardless of circumstance. You can't shoot a deer from a public roadway anymore than I can drive down I-70 firing rounds out the window.

The law is much different in Iowa, where I have pheasant hunted several times. Under Iowa law you can shoot game from your vehicle and be within the law.

50 states means 50 differing sets of laws, and it is in your best interest to know all laws of the state you reside
