As to the placing of the box you either build the box to face a spesific way, or you turn it ti'll it sound loudest. On the amp issue you can easily use a 1400watt amp on both the 1508, 1510 and 1512 since they have the same motor. We used a PWK designs box and a 1400watt Dynabel amp on a 1508 and it rippes the car apart. The 1500 series is awsome for a budget system.

400 watts is underpowering the speaker. Your amp gets hot and ohm load goes higher than supposed to. Besides.. get a new box.. you hear the higher notes better than low notes.. and button down that damn license plate
