There are many ways to explain it. But I'll explain 2.

1. Many generations could go by and by and you it is possible for you to take on the image of an ancestor. But the only other way to prove that, which obviously they cant, is the finger prints.

2. If your religion or if you just believe in reincarnations, it is possible that your ancestor could be you. You could be that person. I would love to believe that...

I believe in re-incarnation but the brow line of the old photo is not quite as "arched" as Patrick Dempsey's brow line. Patrick has more of a sad puppy dog look and his nose is a bit pointier than the the man in the photo.

It is a striking resemblance and warrants some Ooo's and Ahh's but I don't think it is Patrick in a previous life.

Comments left on the Response video say that Patrick Dempsey was born in Lewiston Maine. After asking more relatives, The likely first name is John or James. Last name is forgotten. He might have been a traveling salesman for a Dye company in Lewiston or a teacher?? If he was an ancestor of Patrick Dempsey, his job as a salesman would explain the picture having been taken in Jackson Mich. Unfortunately the people in my family to ask have all passed away in the last ten years.

On the Response Video site, I was asked to try to find a name. I've spent some time calling elderly relatives to find a name. All of my relatives and background are in Maine. This picture is from an album kept by my Late Aunt Winnie Springer and Boyd Springer of Sabattus Maine, (Part of Lewiston). All my relatives remember is that his sister married my Great, Great, Grandfather. He was from an Irish immigrant family of farmers that lived in the area of Lewiston.

I should also add, that my relative in the picture is about the same age that Patrick Dempsey is now. Look how VERY Thick his hair is, JUST like Patrick Dempsey. Very few men at that age have a thick full head of hair. Same exact hairline too.

I wish the picture details were clearer in the video. My ancestor's vintage 1880's picture shows a slightly crooked nose...Just like Patrick Dempsey AND his beard grows in EXACTLY the same way. They are Identical.
